How to Allow File Transferring MTP from Android Phone to Computer (Android Tutorial)

Do you want to know how to allow file transferring MTP from android phone to Computer! On your Android phone, go to the "Settings" app. You can usually find it in the app drawer or by swiping down the notification panel and tapping the gear icon.

Scroll down and select "About phone" or "About device." The exact wording may vary depending on your device and Android version.

Look for the "Build number" or "Build version" entry. Tap on it seven times quickly. You will see a message stating that you are now a developer.

Go back to the main Settings menu, and you should see a new option called "Developer options" or "Developer settings." Tap on it to access the developer settings.

Scroll down in the Developer options menu until you find the "USB debugging" option. Toggle the switch to enable it. You may be prompted to confirm your action.

Now, scroll further down until you find the "Default USB configuration" or "Select USB configuration" option. Tap on it.

In the USB configuration menu, select the "File transfer" or "MTP" option. This will set the default USB connection mode to file transfer whenever you connect your phone to a computer.

You can now exit the Developer options menu.

My Lenovo Tablet won't let me change USB settings. It keeps NO DATA TRANSFER button on and does not allow me to change this setting. I don't want it to STOP ALL USB FUNCTIONS. Do you have suggestions?

After having Developer Access.. I have to access Developer Options by going into System.. not About Phone. When I do, I set the Default USB configuration to File Transfer. BUT... when I connect the phone with USB to the iMac... it still just charges the phone.. and Android Transfer app will not find the phone. Using Android 11 and MacOS Monterey ... maybe this has been screwed up by Apple or by Android. It just won't work and the directions you gave are not really correct.

this is the worst video I have ever seen-IT WAS NO HELP AT ALL-not only are you going too fast in your instructions, but you fail to understand that the people watching this video have no clue what the next step is and you just keep talking about other settings they don't want!!!! hence why apple is better than GOOGLE and Androids. All I want to be able to do is transfer my own files to my own computer and the fact that's an issue is a joke because all these companies are trying to do is sell you more data-thanks for nothing
