the insanity of Prime

Oh look another product from content creators. Logan Paul and KSI launched Prime about a year ago with their hydration drink. Now they have an energy drink so obviously I have to review all the flavors and consume far too much caffeine for youtube views.

I am a truck driver for Prime Incorporated, and when these energy drinks first showed up at our main terminal a lot of drivers thought our company has their own energy drink. LOL

As a British person, I've seen people hyping it up as a KSI's drink and I didn't know that Logan Paul was involved with it until this video. KSI is suuuuper popular over here, much more so than Logan Paul. Additionally, I've seen year 12's and 13's at my college selling Prime to the year 7's and 8's at the adjacent high school for £10 a can.

i work in an ASDA (like Walmart) in the UK and about a month ago 10 teenage boys broke into the warehouse at the back of the shop and started climbing the shelves to get prime that hadn't been put out yet. Its literally insane

I work in an Aldi in the UK, we had very limited stock, one day only, gone in under 5 minutes and mostly bought by parents. There was one horrific moment, about an hour after the last bottle had gone. a mother and son (he was 15) came in and asked if we had Prime, we said sorry but it had all gone, and the son said, "told you, stupid bitch, we should have been here at six" mother said "sorry sweety" (WTF)

Don't worry, your fan base isn't too crazy. I wouldn't pay more than about $100 for a lock of your hair. Also, I think the UK side is really more about KSI than Logan Paul, he's like the UK's Mr. Beast.

The fact that she starts talking faster and faster as the video continues and she drinks more of the drinks is very funny.

Note from a Brit: there are two types of drink. The energy drink and hydration drink! In the UK, you need to be 16+ to buy an energy drink. It’s the hydration drink that they are going mad for.

Its funny how you say you didnt realise ksi was involved. In the uk its the opposite, it’s definitely known as the ksi drink here. In terms of support for sports thats just a cultural thing, look up british football fans to see more. The frenzy for the drinks seems to be because its become the cool thing for kids to have so schoolkids are desperate to get one to look cool and show off to people who haven’t got one

I do appreciate that KSI is telling fans not to pay outrageous prices for the drinks. Regardless of reason, it's better that he tries to warn his fanbase than let them be exploited in that way

So I’m a science teacher in a UK secondary school, it’s been absolutely insane how this thing has taken off. It might have started off as fandom or scarcity, but in my school the boys carry around these bottles like status symbols. The news reports how hard they are to come by, and I think that many boys are bringing in the same bottle each day. They are also trading amongst themselves to get all the colours, I’m pretty sure some of the boys are selling them at school. It didn’t bother me much until I saw the energy drinks. Caffeine and taurine are not a good combination for developing brains and there is no way to know how much they’ve consumed or if their parents know they are drinking a product they are legally too young to purchase. Bit wild how it has taken off, still don’t understand the hype but I can totally understand the kids don’t want to be left out of the latest trend.

‘That’s unhinged!’ Amanda says as her eye twitches in reaction to the ungodly amount of caffeine she has consumed.

In the UK: there seems to be quite limited availability in terms of amount and locations and it really seems to be kids and teens pressuring parents to get hold of it from what I've seen.

It's such a funny dichotomy that the American content creators talking about Prime know Logan as the creator of prime while English ones know Prime as KSI's thing

It's so upsetting that no matter how many people you scam, if you're rich and famous enough you can get away with it.

Also a note, I didn't see you mention it. In the UK you have to be 16+ to buy energy drink. I am 28 and still get ID'd for it. So I'm concerned about HOW kids are buying it

Between constant austerity, Brexit, a cost of living crisis, a tanked pound, continual industry strikes and 13 years of the Conservative government, it's safe to say the country has collectively lost its mind. In a country that's growing more insane, this hysteria over Prime seems to make perfect sense.

I'm a Brit living in Spain and haven't seen the drink over here but I know there were people fighting in shops over the drink. My mum has never heard of it when I asked her but people from home said they have gone ham in terms of marketing it. We even have a footballer's wife hosting a Prime themed birthday party for their child which blows my mind. Especially considering the child is only 5 so shouldn't really even know about it... It's been in a lot of tabloids as well which has only driven demand and now a bargain superstore is claiming to stock their own dupe. Mental!

It’s so interesting, I had just watched a little mini documentary about how fervent people were about this drink over in the UK…paying hundreds of dollars for a single bottle. Traveling cross country to get it. And so I went to my local grocery store to get some food and there’s just pallets of prime stacked up and I was like wait what?
