Very interesting subject. Even if you jump on the old car investment train at the lowest market point. I chose a 20 year old Peugeot Pininfarina Convertible with a rare 2.0 l engine. It goes like stink. I can be sure every cent I put into the car will pay back twice after a couple of years while I drive a very interesting and beautiful car - which also is awsome to drive - at the same time. Any average guy can do this, it is a nice little investment on the side. Just pick the right cars, which can be tricky in the cheaper market. A good choice is not always the obvious one.

The Celebrity provenance only works when they themselves had competition history or were bonafide car nuts. McQueen & Paul Newman are the best examples. Also helps if they're dead. A Janis Joplin Porsche (356, I think) painted all trippy - sold about a year ago at RM in London for a big premium but I think it was just "two drunk guys" dueling for it.

also the cars need to be faithful to the factory specification. As an extreme example you don't want a car where the 1960s door panels have been drilled through to put in more modern radio speakers !

And then there's air cooled 911's. Interesting with racing history. But thousands and thousands made. Thousands and thousands still in existence. And still the prices are still skyrocketing.
Demand can't exactly be quantified.

#AskMotoManTV I'm looking at the new Corvette C7 GS and would like your opinion on carbon brakes? Are they a good option to have since I don't plan to do any track driving?
