Have you ever wondered what it costs to own and operate a classic car? Now you will! In this video I cover my costs of ownership over the past year of my 1969 Mustang Mach 1. I'm only going to cover fixed costs and typical maintenance.

In the comments, let me know if I have missed any other costs that you pay for your vehicle.

Pretty good breakdown. As I am getting very close to having my 67 Mustang to the point it will be a good and safe weekend driver, this was good information to have and think about. I think I would also include a budget for bulbs and fuses plus a roadside kit with things like jumper cables, hoses, belts, return springs and so on. In the past having those items have saved my backside.

They are never perfect and once you buy one in my experience anyway. You want upgrades!!! That’s my weakness! 1970 Challenger RT 440 4 speed here! Hard to control spending money on her!! Lol

I’m gonna be honest with my spending on it simply because I couldn’t get a straight answer from most. Insurance and theft protection are my biggest concerns now. I don’t have exact calculations but at least 40k so far in parts and 30k on the body. I have had almost all the mechanical working parts replaced, upgraded, or refurbished to higher than factory standards. I get and don’t knock the concours guys but mines a restomod and always was going to be. Loved driving around in my old 65 coupe but I’m not 18 anymore and I like a bit more comfort and not the wind blasting through random worn out seals and such. If it starts looking crazy high on the insurance I’ll do the park it in winter thing. I’m gonna get 100k coverage minimum and am heavily researching so I don’t get screwed by the insurance if I ever have to file a claim. Want to be able to go buy another as close to what I had if need be. Thanks smackey for the information as always.

I've wanted a historic truck for years. Had my 1970 C10 stolen just last year.
Now the years are passing and some of the jalopies I've had put away are turning into those classics I always wanted. 1986 F350 Dump. Not what I imagined...but I'll take it.
I want my historics to be working class trucks. tHanks for the video
