And he declined the suit, because he knew that wasn’t the best thing for him at the time.
It’s real maturity beyond his age.

Because we knew he didn’t want to build the time travel, he wanted to stay with Morgan. But then he saw the face of peter...and saw a life that deserved to see the beautiful sky too.

At the start where tony goes to open the door for Peter and tony says ‘no we’re not there yet’ and then coming back to endgame where Peter comes back, Tony hugs him. Their bond (even when Peter was gone) stays strong, and then to have tony leave Peter is absolutely heartbreaking. They both loved each other 3000.
