Wining GOLD medal for USA may not mean much.

But LOSING GOLD MEDAL for team USA (especially this team) Would MEAN absolute historic embarrassment FOR NBA and America as a whole.

This is the proof why Manu should be considered atleast top 50 of all time. Won rings in the NBA and won Olympic gold.

Embiid wakes up in the morning as a Cameroonian, at noon he feels like a Frenchman, at the end of the evening he ends up as an American.😀😅😂🤣...😘

Winning Olympic gold as the leader of a european team would be insane. It would equal many NBA championships lol. That person would be reach godlike levels of fame in his country

Bro casually showed a photo of Nikola Milutinov and called him Nikola Jović. Hard to keep count of all Nikolas and distingiush them from each other, I know.

The AD slander didn't age well. He's been cooking these international players so far.

Nobody in Greece considers Spanoulis the greatest Greek player ever. Not even in the National team and its accomplisments.
We had the best non NBA scorer (along with Oscar SChmidt) ever Nick Galis. He won a gold medal in 87 and basically kickstarted Greek basketball.
Spanoulis won one too, but as the 10th player on the roster, averaging less than 2, 5ppg. Papaloukas was the leader of that gold medal team.

Also, giannis underperformed at a younger age, but due to the fact that he is not used to the kind of basketball being played in FIBA competitions.
He improved so much in the last Euro (although still this kind of basketball doesn't fit his game naturally) but the supporting cast and coaching was rather weak.
We were not the team that we used to be and it had nothing to do with Giannis' efforts. Although we look like a real team for this years Olympics

In Embiid's defence,
- Camerun likes volleyall more than basketball. They wouldn't have cared that much.
- France already had 2 centers which they would be willing to use and there would be so much controversy for the usage amount of each.
- And there was a team with good guards and no real center. A team that needs you, where you can proove yourself against the others, of a country where you live, eat, enjoy.
I think he made the correct choise but the way through that choise is ugly, mischievous, full of lies and disgust.
In my opinion, Embiid is just trying to clear his name where he lives and wish to lover the hate on him in the league he is playing.

To be fair, Luka did not lead Slovenia to the Eurobasket gold. That was Goran Dragič. Luka was an essential component of the team along with the 2 best centers we ever fielded in Vidmar and Randolph. It was a huge team effort of which Luka was a part but not the main man. Jagodič and Čančar also had a good tournament and they were the most played players from Slovenia. If you ask me, besides Dragič, the best performance was put in by Gašper Vidmar at center, him and Gogi had excellent chemistry and were able to punish every team either on the pnr and in transition making them the one team who could do that constantly, they were able to switch tempo really quickly and seamlessly going from sluggish to FTL speeds in a blink so teams could not really adjust their defence properly

All Greece and even Europe knows that Ghalis was a Basketball player very close to Giannis the best of all time, then its Giannis, Diamantidis, Spanoulis and probably Giannakis and Papaloukas.

I am an older Bucks fan that truly never thought they would be good enough to play for in a finals in my life time. Giannis's finals run is a legit sports movie, that said I watched all of Greece trying to make it to Paris and he wants it bad. I think if Greece just medals it will be huge but if somehow Greece can beat team USA that would be another thing.

"Joel embiid is going to be the main guy on team USA" you sound dumb. "Anthony Davis and Bam can play the 5 in the NBA but not in the Olympics" 😂 please stop!

Winning an Olympic gold medal means nothing to any USA team, it's the other teams who care. We only care because it's annoying every time we severely stop trying for people to get insanely arrogant. I assume it's how the Japanese would feel if they lose in judo.

At the same time, nowadays, maybe it's finally an era where the USA has to be serious if they want to win the gold, and last loss is a wake up call rather than a fluke.

Embiid isn't gonna be the biggest piece in Team USA. With names like LeBron, Steph, AD, Tatum and more, there is no biggest piece. It's an overpowered collective that'll dominate even if one or two players don't show up because they have unbelievable depth. Their bench has players who'd start in most other countries in terms of ability.

Bro we didn't win the world cup at 06. We lost at the final after beating the US. And if there is one player that is unanimously considered the greek goat here it's Galis, not V-Span. Also, Thanasis is injured. He's actually a huge loss for the team, even though a lot of people hate on him.
