I always find the instruction and performance impressive but what I find equally impressive is the actual verbal explanation WHILE performing all the steps. Talking while doing it is actually one thing that makes me sit up and take notice even more so than a background disembodied voice explaining the actions. Thanks!

Woooow is this that easy? :D I was able to jump trough on 3rd try, amazing training video 🙏 I started ashtanga 6 months ago, I tried to do it even a teacher was showing to me and helped me but no success.. Feet positioning was the key! 1000 thanks 🙏🤸‍♂️❤️

I noticed that your hands are slightly outwardly turned (middle finger is not forward). Do you recommned that for all hand balancing poses? What about for downward facing dog?

My shoulders crack like crazy every single time I jump through (I'm working with your second version at this point) right at the point where I'm getting the legs through the arms. I tried being really conscious about keeping my shoulders "down the back" but that still doesn't really help. I'm slightly worried this could cause some joint problems down the line.. have you seen this with any of your students?

Hi Kino I love ur videos! I have been doing ashtanga for half a year now and I feel I am getting better at my jump through. However I realized that I will never be able to do it right before I can have the palms of my hands completely on the floor when I do a forward fold. So now when I jump through, even with your step by step technique, I tend to take the palms of my hands off the floor and press only on my fingers which is wrong of course. Do you recommend I work on my forward fold first?

I'm excited to start trying this. I've been doing Swenson's "take it up" and then putting my hands in front without much progress. An instructor at Yoga Workshop also recommended something similar. This looks like it will give you a better feel of what it's like coming through.

As a sidenote, I notice that in Sharath's Primary Series video he comes into sitting legs crossed instead of floating legs straight method. Is that the preferred method or is he just doing it for us noobs?

I have a super sticky rubber mat, which makes jumping through impossible!! In a workshop we tried jump through practice on the shiny wooden floor wearing socks, and I was still miles off, but so much easier than on a rubber mat. Maybe one day I'll nail it!
