This is interesting. Before watching this video, I coincidentally like to go home from work, take a 30-60 minute nap, eat some protein, then work out. I'll continue I guess.

2:03 - REM is not the deepest stage of sleep. It's the exact opposite, as it's the stage with the highest levels brain activity. Out of the ones you show, N3 is the deepest stage of sleep.

I'd love to nap so much but I just can't relax/fall asleep during the day. I'd just lie around getting bored if I tried :(

There's no way you can nap 90 mins a day if you're getting adequate sleep, not to mention napping that much would impact your actual sleep cycle. I love me a good nap, but unless my sleep sucked, I won't get more than 10-15mins. And yes, I am nearly 40

Napping can be really good for a ton of reasons, but if you're sleeping enough hours at night, more than 20-30mins, or napping close to bedtime will probably make a dent in that. Afternoon naps where I live are not uncommon and that seems to be the most popular time range. You also don't want to be tired since you only napped for 1 hour vut it was so close to bedtime that you depleted the melanin you needed to go to sleep

I finally am getting a better sleep average of 7-8 hours if sleep, and I took a nap before my workout yesterday had way more energy and performance

Don´t you love when you bump into something that recommends to do something you´ve already been doing for a long time?

It really sucks when you have sleep apnea and napping could make perfomance even worse.

Can approve, last chest day I decided to nap for 40min and managed not only bench an new weight but felt less mentally fatigue between sets.

I just hate when I end up napping after having already drank one of my protein shakes for the day.

I usually nap after. I'm not lazy enough to nap before.

There should be quite a sizable gap between nap and workout for this to work.

Except if you have problems falling asleep at night, then naps after the worst thing you can do
