For anyone out there who don't feel confident enough. Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. Don't let others define the world for you. Get up and grab the opportunities. Have an awesome day! 🙏

The *ONE* thing that most people underestimate when making videos on YouTube is engagement. When you talk in front of a camera, you want to be genuine, friendly, and likeable. If you aren't these things, practise talking in front of a mirror to improve your charisma because it's crucial when wanting to build an audience.

I'm definitely going to try some of these tips. My channel has been gaining new viewers very slowly. After I hit 100k last November I've been at a standstill. Thanks for the tips

Every pro was once a beginner too. So if they can do it, SO CAN WE.
To those who just started out, keep creating and trust the journey!

J- and L-cuts can make a huge difference. I have taken to using them even on a talking head video. It picks up the pace enormously but eases the transition as compared to jump cuts, which can seem really abrupt.

Don't forget that they most likely use editors as well. It's amazing how many of these little things that you might never think of can be added by someone else who is looking at your footage without your preconceived ideas of how you want it to go.

If story is king then editing is queen. You've got to have great core content BUT if you can't trim the fluff away from that thing and make it make sense then you'll never take off.

These are really UNTOLD SECRETS since almost every beginning Youtuber just cut the video and audio together and don't have any idea what an L cut or J cut is!

Wow! One camera 3 shots in one open scene. The power of music, L and J cut. Thanks for all these amazing tips. I need to inculcate all these into my videos.

It’s funny how a lot of people think content creation is so easy and don’t realize all the editing that goes into it. It’s like “oh but it’s just a 5min video” but yeah there’s probably 24+ hours of editing on that video lol
I’ve been working on trimming the fluff from all my videos, making them get to the point faster and removing the umms and ehhs so that way it’s much more seamless. I also love adding sound effects whenever possible. It’s all been a learning experience but I feel like I’ve definitely gotten much better along the way.
It would be great to see some analysis of MKBHD!

Holy damn this video was PACKED with quality advice, I picked up at least 4 things that I will be implementing STRAIGHT AWAY for my next video. Keep it up Think Media!

It would be great if yall would do some research on free editing programs like davinci and not overly expensive Adobe products since Adobe is very pricey for most new users

Question to Think Media: Are these YouTubers doing their OWN editing or do they have a staffer, buddy, crew, etc. doing the editing for them and working with what the YouTuber envisions for the video?

sad part most of these people don't even do their own edits

You can double click the audio waveform to expand it and create J and L cuts without detaching the audio. With the expanded audio, you can trim the video without trimming the audio.

You know this is a great analysis. I've been upping my editing and everyone around me keeps saying more videos, less editing... but what I find is my sub count shoots way up on the better edited videos. Talking 100 subs instead of 10. Many channels I follow take this approach too. They do 1 video a week and it's a fun video. I didnt know that about the 60 fps for good slo mo.. ill also add that buying a good transitions pack for Adobe is a must do. *new video idea for you* there are several transition packs online, mine came with sound effects too.

To anyone reading this. Just keep uploading. Don’t stop because you think nothing will happen on your channel. Just stick with what you want to upload and keep uploading. You can do this just don’t give up!
