Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Review

Xiaomi's Redmi Note 4 is the second Redmi Note phone released this year, and surprisingly enough it seems that Xiaomi may have outdone themself when compared to the previous model. At an ultra-budget price this phone doesn't feel anything like a budget phone in any way, shape or form. Launching with MIUI 8 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow certainly help things, and considering pretty much every feature from Xiaomi's more expensive flagships are here, do you really need anything else from the company? Looking forward to getting mine. The Redmi Note 3 Pro is likely a better bet for some, with Cyanogen support and a similarly fast SD650 SoC for a similar price, but the Note 4 is also an interesting device with a slightly better hardware design. You are right about MIUI - I never understand why the large Chinese manufacturers Android skins like Xiaomi's MIUIand Huawei's EMUI insist on closing down apps and reducing privileges for seemingly no reason.

Actually, you can easily get the notification from background apps in miui by going to and just move the slider to make the application run in the background. It's very useful feature, so you can easily handle process from any apps that you want, either it must active in the background process or not. very useful for battery conservation and level of distraction that you want.

Great review! Nice to see that you've mentioned the restrictions on background refresh. Something it seems, everyone else that has reviewed this phone has omitted to mention.

If you want dual-SIM, forget about the $135 16GB model. You'll need the 2nd SIM card slot for a MicroSD card.
