I installed a new battery on 2006 Ford 500 and then had P2111 / P2104 codes. I cleaned the throttle body, erased codes, disconnected battery, etc, etc. but kept getting the same codes and locked in "limp mode". I was just about to buy a new throttle body, but first decided to adjust the closed position stop after watching your video. Mine is a spring loaded stop screw/pin - slightly different from the one shown in your video. The head is a plastic hex that protrudes on the outside of the housing. I backed the stop out about 3/4 turn and this corrected the issue. Car is running better than it has in months. I assume this adjustment may be compensating for a weak return spring, but it got me going for now. Great video! Much appreciated.

Just had an issue with my car going into limp mode. Same codes previously discussed. Replaced with a new one. Opened the old one and found the first five teeth had been worn almost flat on the half gear that connects to the throttle valve which made for inconsistent idle. 20 minutes to replace. Thanks for the videos.

My 2010 Ford escape hybrid was pulling code p2112 and I got it checked out. The mechanic said it was the electronics in the throttle body just like you said! Your videos are so useful thank you!

Thanks buddy. Happened to me today on the highway. Complete loss of power at 100 kmph, coupled with a heavy gearbox shift, probably to neutral. Was on cruise control. The orange wrench came on but no MIL. Stopped at the shoulder on emergency, no throttle response. Put gear in P then back to drive, nothing.
After a quick engine off/on cycle, MIL was on but power is back. Checked the OBD back home and it said P2104 and P2111, throttle body fault and throttle stuck open respectively. I don’t think I have experienced and throttle wide open condition during the fault, and therefore suspect a malfunctioning TPS. Will order a full body and replace, will follow the throttle relearning procedures and update on what happens.
Thank you for the great videos. Keep ‘em coming buddy.

It happens to my 2011 Escape also. Seems to happen when it's wet. From rain or washing it sometime makes it start happening. Sometimes it runs right for a month without happening.

Thanks for the explanation! My wife's 2010 Fusion had the ETB die this morning. Thankfully she was right near a dealership that was able to replace it under the extended warranty at no cost to us, otherwise I'd be looking into replacing the cover with the sensor.

Very detailed bideo great job! Do you think the failure of and ETB would cause jerking under hard acceleration along with horrible fuel mileage and the odor of gas?

Thanks for your vids. Helped me out a lot with my 07 Explorer 4.6 3v Orange Ironman Edition 225k. Thought I was having TPS issues with random stalls at stops or at highway speed as soon as you let off the pedal. I pushed the throttle plate all the way to closed and it stuck close. Removed and cleaned throttle body and no issues at all with the originalTPS. Sticking Throttle Plate essentially blocks all air intake then you stall have to pull over and restart engine which resets throttle plate. Hard to chase down randomness. No codes. Gummed Up Throttle plate. Try pushing yours closed and see if it sticks if u have random things happening. Good luck

I just received a recall notice for my 2010 Ford Fusion, so I was curious about the issue. Your explanation was really informative. Thank you.

You know those DC motors working their butts off going back and forth for constant and variable throttle position. Sure would take precise control to run those motors like that. The trouble they go thru just to eliminate a cable... smh.

There is a chip available that does exactly what is required for this design. That is an ordinary permanent magnet on the end of the shaft. The chip detects through hall effect sensors the angle of the field with relation to the chip. The unfortunate thing about hall effect devices is because of the heavy doping they have a higher failure rate than other IC's.

Wow you would make a wonderful teacher. We use cam gears on instruments at the refinery where I work

Hey, love the videos. It has also helped me a bunch during the ownership of my vehicles.

Simply a suggestion, apparently there is a re-occuring clicking sound happening with the throttle body of many F-150, that can simply be resolved by cleaning. The flap appears to snag the dirt build-up in the throttle body.

I think it could be video worthy, as there is some mis-information out there...

2010 Ford Escape New throttle body part was $100 Woodhouse Ford Blair Nebraska .Ford extended the warranty on this part to 10 years or 150, 000 miles, I changed it out myself...Extremely important part so that your FORD doesn't stop in the Middle of the Freeway

Done changed the plugs and checked all coils and still have a rough idle and that little surge so I guess I'll be going with the BBK 80mm throttle body thanks

You ever have this issue
Only on cold or somewhat cold starts the car idles down into limp mode. Wrench light comes on.

Turn the car off then back on and everything is fine. It doesn't leave a code during limp mode or apon restart. Nothing to go off of.

I've come to the conclusion that it's either the pedal assembly or throttlebody.

But wondering your thoughts. Car is a 2006 fusion with a 2.3
