What I like about his philosophy, he consistently acknowledges, there are multiple ways to swing a golf club.

40 years of golf instruction, say $20, 000, and still not good, this makes so much sense and the way I'd like to swing the club.  Cannot say thank you enough Mike for giving us this video!  Best!

One of the best explanations of the different swings. Now I can filter out 3/4's of what's on the net, your stuff is GREAT!!!

it's great to see someone actually acknowledge different types of swings. i've tried them all at one time or another. I just discovered the last one - so much easier, faster, farther! Thx, Mike!

Swing #4!! Finally a concept that I can really grasp! Tried it today on the range and it was awesome. Thx Mike!

I tried variations of all this swings and I found the last version is the easiest to get to grips with. Once you get that feeling of the club falling at the top of the back swing then the rest kind of follows automatically. I started with slow swings first ever and over and the gradually increased the speed as my confidence grew. The only danger I find is that; if you move the arms too soon and yet still follow the right swing path, you can end up pulling the ball to the left, or worse, a pull hook. But still, its a very powerful swing for sure. Once I got grips with understanding and "feeling" this swing, I started hitting the ball for miles and it felt like little effort. Malaska is a great explainer of how these swings work.

Malaska's videos are amazing because of the focus on what it should feel like and not what it should look like. I think anyone can get the feeling by simply swinging a driver upside down (hold it by bottom of shaft close to clubhead). Try swinging with speed and you instantly notice its all hands/arms and your shoulders and hips simply react to the momentum. This drill also should emphasize the whoosh sound by or after the ball location.

Been playing for 11 years without getting much better. This video has made me realise my swing is a hybrid of all the types of swings mentioned. I'm always hearing or seeing something new and thinking thats the missing link. Will take some more lessons and focus on that last swing type. Thanks Mike. Absolute quality!!

Great information Mike and thanks from an old duffer (68). I have been using the body swing for a while (because I seem to lose control of the plane on the downswing with the hands/arm swing) but I am finding that it causes pain in the lower right side of my back when I go through the ball. There is another instructor on here who I stumbled across called Julian Mellor of Positive Imoact Golf who advocates the use of the final swing (Justin Rose) because it is as you say an easy simple and friendly on the the body swing and you can still hit it a fair distance. So thanks again for your time and help in these videos. Cheers.

Great explanation Mike! Thx! I'm going with #4. Looks the smoothest and fastest to me.

MIke Austin said throwing the club head in the inside out circle from the top with your hands thru the ball to the target and let your body respond to it. Of course you have to know how to move your body correctly.

Great explanation! Choosing a swing is like a religious commit. It is good to know there are options that are well understood. I imagine all the swings you mentioned and everything in between exists on the tour.

At this point, I will be reviewing the Directing momentum approach . For better balance and ease on the lower back.

I remember discovering Mikes teachings well over a year ago now and realising that I was already using his concept of a momwntum swing and thus finally understanding why most current teaching trends did more harm than good to my swing. Since then I've become a devote follower of Mikes principles and my game has gone from strength to strength.

I'd love to see some more stuff from Mike covering the set up, backswing and other aspects of the swing. Also a DVD is a must, Ive been asking him to make one for over a year.

"Acceleration creates stability" -- corollary is that a true swinging motion makes the relatively steady head possible. People think of it as exclusively the other way around, but it isn't. They're mutually influencing factors, like so many other things in the swing that are mistaken for pure cause-and-effect. The freer and more coordinated your swing motion is, the steadier your center will try to be.
