i’m excited for this. for like 5-10 years it’s gonna be like when smartphones were new and the competition was super intense and nearly every year there were new huge and exciting upgrades

I am glad that some companies are building EV that look like regular cars.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but Hyundai's nailing it really.

Ok, so I guess we're just gonna pretend that Rivian isn't already delivering the R1T.

Let me preface this by saying I'm excited about a future full of clean EVs. What disappoints me the most is that the lack of truly affordable EVs. Almost all of these are super expensive for the average Joe who's financially responsible. I'm not talking about folks who live in trailer parks but drive a lifted $60K truck or a Mercedes. I cannot wait for Honda and Toyota to get into the EV game and deliver some affordable units. I would take an affordabe PHEV too!

Let’s face the truth: none of these will be affordable due to all the dealer markups. Even the KIA Niro EV has a dealer markup of $9K.

Wasn't the electric truck market started by Rivian R1T, not the Ford lightning!?
Odd that he made that mistake.

the lack of ev coupes or sedans is just making me appreciate them even more in this sea of crossovers

Ah yes, cloud connected services is the first thing that comes to my mind when buying a new car... because not having a car these days that logs where I've been and passed through, and everything I do with it and automatically uploads all of that data safely to the cloud of some company, then it's really not even worth consideration because we all want that, right?!

My wife and I have a 2016 Chevy Volt now with over 110, 000 miles. It seems that once you drive on electric power you are hooked for life. We just ordered a Toyota 2022 RAV 4 Prime (plug in) which will have nearly the identical electric range of our Volt and nearly the same MPG when operating just on gas with the benefit of a more room SUV, and all wheel drive.

I’ll stick with used ice compact cars for a long time until the price comes down and used ev are more prevalent. This strategy will save me alot of money in the long run.

What about the Rivian R1T? They are currently the ONLY fully electric pick-ups on the road right now!

This is a dumb idea I can image what chaos we will have to charge it! Imagine you pull up to a charging station and it’s full what do u do next??? What a waste of your life!!! Time is precious right now!!! The very least thing I would want to do is Waite for 1.5 hours to charge it every time!!! People wake up or it will be late!!!

My main concern is that if we really own those EVs. As in can we fix them or we have to pay subscribers for basic features

Buyer Beware! One only needs to ask what the life expectancy is on the battery and the cost to replace it. Recent story of a Floridian grandfather purchased a used EV for granddaughter less than a month later it needed a $20, 000 battery the purchase price of the car $19, 000. To be informed by dealership the battery was no longer being manufactured. A disposable investment only to sold to a scrapyard. We never hear about these stories for good reasons. Being on a fixed income or an average citizen income or a Struggling mom with children these new cars average $45, 000 to $100, 000 just don’t make good sense. The technology is fairly new and certainly costly for the average citizen. Maybe it will change in the future, the far future until guarantees of maintenance cost and replacement cost compared to combustible engines. This industry will improve no doubt but as more purchases and time many nightmare stories will be told. But if your budget can afford these cars you’ll be the Cool Cat on the block! My advice would be to factor in reselling it within three to four years as the Battery will eventually die. Comparing your grandads old car that’s still running after thirty years. But who wants to be that guy inheriting Pops old car with real chrome bumpers?

Brian is the best. If he had a video describing his lunch, I'd still listen to it.

One main thing people have to be mindful when comparing range is to compare range per battery pack size…they could say 300miles on a charge but if the battery pack is 150kwh they’re using twice the battery size of Tesla Model 3/Y. That’s how you know which company is a better one/efficient.

Disappointing you did not mention the 2022 Lucid Air, which is one of the most compelling EVs to hit the market with range exceeding 500 miles and the power to match.

Love these videos. Great voice, great knowledge, great span of offerings. They’re laid back with a good eye on style as well as performance.
