The metal isn't molten in HEAT rounds, it's not hot enough. It's superplastic because of the pressure created by the explosion

You forgot about electric reactive armor sometimes just called electric armor. Basically instead of explosive or polymers between the plates of the ERA there’s just air, but the plates are charged to high voltages basically turning the armor into a giant capacitor. When a projectile or HEAT jet penetrates the armor it contacts both plates at the same time completing the circuit and instantaneously discharges the stored current vaporizing the projectile or jet. Cool stuff.

Heat rounds do not create a jet of molten metal that is a common myth. Heat rounds create a jet stream of metal that are in a state of superplasticity that cuts through armor and doesn't melt it.
