It really says everything when the standout feature of your dlc is a big plague that kills off all of your overbuffed characters.

In my opinion, the content is great, but the price is insane. I love the dlc, but the price is blatantly ridiculous. I always recommend people buy paradox dlcs, but to wait until theyre on sale

I'm a big fan of the "critiquing strategy games from inside my garage" vibe you have going.

I've started playing with this DLC but have noticed that if you are not in the zone that has plenty of seeds already, the seeds you do get are very generic. A lot of people play in Europe, but I'm kind of bored of Europe. I play Africa, the Middle East, India, Tibet, the Steppes. All those regions feel a fair degree blander than Europe. I will be unpopular but with this Chapter 3, Roads To Power is essentially a massive fan pleaser/Byzantophile pack. If you aren't a big lover of Byzantium, you aren't going to get half as much out of that pack. I had hoped that they would perhaps continue doing flavour packs but spreading them out. We could really do with some for Africa, India, Tibet and The Steppes. They don't have to do struggles every time either.

In this pack, it is very easy to remain at max Legitimacy which does a lot for you. In addition, you can stack legends pretty high (although they are expensive). The plagues are annoying for their development burnoff but at least its an uncontrollable obstacle to progress.

If you get mythical legends and follow the new dynasty legacy for legends, they are OP. Depending on the type of mythical legend, you can do some insane things and cut down the curve on map painting. The danger with this game from what I can see is stat-stacking. I sometimes hate the balances that Paradox make to nerf them as well. It's a bit of a "paradox" ding ding.

I am going to work on my own mod for Crete and the Minoan culture, and this DLC does add some extra useful things for it. Especially with the Legend seed. So I think there is benefit to it. Also, it does give Royal Court a bit more function by adding legitimacy every time you hold court. Another benefit is that the court positions (for a small portion of those said positions) have been expanded slightly to do some more useful activities. Does that add up to $20 well spent (or in my case £16.75). I'm not sure. I could probably have bought a discounted game in a sale that would have been more value than this DLC for sure. I think this DLC was worth half of what Paradox charged. I wouldn't say it is a bad one though. Just average. In combination with other mechanics it could be amazing in future.

I watched this video and then it led me down to almost everything else you've posted. They were all very fun to watch, good work

A stocking stuffer dlc is such a perfect way of describing it.

i would say tours and tournaments was the best dlc by far. but saying 'best'is pushing it. the travel events are so less and after a few journeys all the events become predictable and repetitive.

so far all dlcs are overpriced and raw as hell

I hate the legitimacy, i love playing as a count then forging myself a tiny kingdom but this mechanic makes it way harder then it as to be but my main problem is how easily i lose it all even when i'm winning all my fights anyway i gained 400 Lgt from my legend seed while on a crusade but we ended up losing the crusade, i only lost 2 major fights and lost all of my legitimacy, that is the biggest load of crap ive seen in this game. Another thing that bothers me is that when you have low lgt you get a -50 opinion because of low fame plus more similar annoying debuffs, i just wish they revamp the whole system behind this legitimacy because it has potential but not like this, oh no.

I love the jacket. Also, I had imagined the legends would be built upon in-game decisions made previous.

One thing about the legitimacy thing is that it's a bitch to build if you don't have the DLC. There are a hundred different ways to lose legitimacy, but you're screwed if you want to rise through the levels without shilling $20.

Welsh and Anglo-Saxons have the Arthur Legends btw. But yeah, I get you.

From what I’ve noticed, it takes preexisting legends (or you can start your own) and insert yourself into the legends. And it doesn’t care if you actually did these things, it’s what the protagonist in the legend did, and then you can make yourself the protagonist of the legend. And add other stuff to it that you DID do, and it gives you buffs and claims and whatnot. Like making yourself the protagonist of the King Arthur legend gives you claims on all the titles on the British isles

Legitimacy is a good mechanic for early and mid game, but when you reach the end game and your empire is made of half of europe then it becomes very clear that the only way to keep legitimacy up is to have the legends of the dead dlc, since every time a plague hits your empire (which at the end game is every single month) you lose 100 legitimacy, it is literally impossible to keep it up without the dlc.

PS: it almost feels like they gave legitimacy for free so you would have to buy the dlc to keep it up

I don't know what they were thinking about when creating the legends mechanic, they basically added propaganda campaign for your ruler

The second I saw this screen I knew I would not buy it. "Heasteinn was born to a great Gothic lineage to rule 'EMPIRE OF HISPANIA' as his forefathers would have"... They couldn't even be bothered to spell-check it to say 'The' kingdom of whatever, and there's no situation in which that would be right. Unbelievably lazy. They literally had one page to write for this entire DLC and they fucked up the first sentence.

I wanted to like the DLC, but it seems so shallow with barely any content. And i am a huge CK fan usually ....
