It’s one of the biggest, yet tightest and most modern high gainers I’ve come across. Likes some volume to open up but then...extreme clarity even with loads of gain. Surprising flexibility as well. Excellent internal build. I loved gain at about 9 o’clock, tight to the right, contour fairly high. Like the biggest, baddest, modded Marshall ever. I used a boost on the mid gain ch sometimes but mostly just switched to high gain with tight to the right as nothing was needed then. The Alpha amp was likely the prototype which was called the ‘Gunter’ (as the amp is German inspired) which actually had gain labeled as Brootz if I remember correctly.

Man that sound really got me hooked. To have an awesome clean AND nutty high-gain is a thing of beauty. I may have to buy Australian Made after all! 6550's are awesome and it can run KT88's and EL34's. Oh

LOL! Almost made it to Four Minutes before you reached over and tried to twist the gain knob all the way off in the up direction then slap the strings with a sneer. Better than I would have done man.
