Our antenna guru takes a first look at two new Peplink products - the MAX BR1 Mini 5G router using the X62 5G modem, and the Slim Series antennas for indoor usage in windows (competing with solution like the popular Netgear MIMO antenna).

Both antennas will go into testing and analysis for our members.

Members, check Andy's Antenna Lab in the Testing in Progress forum for his notes.

Thanks for your vids. I know absolutely nothing about any of this stuff. I'm familiar with terms but I don't know how to even use a hotspot or what is needed to use it.
So with these antennas, I assume they improve mobile data reception. Do they also require a subscription or do they just improve on what one already has?

Unfortunately external antennas are a trade-off. While it can catch a better signal, longer cable runs will also lose signal strength. For this reason, phones can get a better signal due to their highly integrated antennas close to the baseband chips inside the housing, especially at higher gigahertz frequencies which are prone to attenuation.
