On April 26, 1986, an accident occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which resulted in the release of huge amounts of radioactive substances into the atmosphere. This tragedy affected millions of people and left deep marks in history, ecology and public health.

Chernobyl was a place where scientific ambition, human error and consequences collided that were far more serious than imagined. Evacuation, the creation of an exclusion zone, and long-term research into the effects of radiation contamination have all become part of Chernobyl's legacy.

The disaster not only changed the lives of those in the immediate vicinity of the plant, but also forced the world to rethink nuclear power safety, responsibility and the importance of controlling technologies that can threaten life. Chernobyl was a lesson we must not forget.
