I'm a boomer and I'm also not feeling guilty. Our southern border is wide open, and everyone coming in is going to need housing. So whoever it is that's blaming the older folks, for a housing shortage, need to expand their knowledge of what is really going on in this country. As Spock always said "Live long and prosper." And that's just what I'm going to do.

Gonna build a small cabin to move to and sell my home to a small family. Its perfect for that. I refuse to sell to an investor. That's the kind of old person I am.

Built my own home slowly over a few years on a paycheck basis during the 1990s, starting very tiny and expanding as money allowed. There's always a way if there is a will. One problem is the ridiculously strict and voluminous building codes that end up forcing people to hire out what we used to be able to do ourselves.

Which is probably why there is such an effort being put forth to control the world's population. I don't plan to sell or even die just to help someone make more money. 🤣

Massive corporations like Goldman sachs and blackrock making cash bully offers and highering rental management is a bigger issue

I think there are plenty of people who just have little compassion and are greedy but your videos are helpful and informative and just want to thank you for keeping your cool. Don’t be hurt over other people but glad your able to take that comment and turn it positive and inform others. I’m considering starting a channel soon as well about things I know. If you don’t mind me asking? I see you made channel and videos for about 3 years and have about 11k followers. Does YouTube provide you any pay for that yet and is sponsorship bringing you any pay? I just want to know if this is something that is paying off for you in terms of money as I’m sure it pays in many ways just to help others also. Thanks for informing the public with good news.

I live in a rural area that the majority of the homes were built in the 60s and 70s. 0 new construction of new builds for sale. What you are saying compounds because when someone dies their family moves in

There’s a report on this topic floating around. Not sure where I saw it a few months ago. Seems the boomers (I am one) have multiple homes. Primary, vacation, and even a rental or two. Builders did not increase development of new homes to keep up with forecasted future demand. They only built for immediate need. Ironically, they are still only building to immediate need, as far more new buyers are coming of age over the next 10 years.

In mid 40’s and same home for nearly 20 years. Always tell the wife I’ll be dammed if I ever end up I a nursing home. I’ll get one of those chair lifts like the old lady in Gremlins had to get me to the second floor! Just don’t tell any Gremlins… shhh.

I am 82, they will carry me out when all 10 toes are turned up.to the sky, if my health holds up and do not have to leave. I am doing well now, sorry, not selling and hope to live until I am in my 90s.

There are 2 empty houses on my street. I assume that the owners are in assisted living facilities. Again, government intervention has exasperated the situation. While I don’t know the particular program, government regulation states that you can receive government assistance if you have 1 home and you could return to live there. If you sell the home, you receive an burst of income that kicks you out of the government assistance program. There is no incentive to sell the home until the owner dies. After passing, the the children can sell the home without having been forced to pay for “granny’s” assisted living.

Home ownership is NOT a Constitutional right. My husband and I--in our 50's moved from expensive Southern California to (then) cheap Idaho. Got a small fixer for $20, 000. Idaho isn't cheap anymore. We had to create some inco0me, but we wanted our own home

This shouldnt even be discussed, you worked, you purchased a home, you live in it until youre ready to leave, its not your fault.
