This is the song Dixie Chicken from the albulm DIXIE CHICKEN by Little Feat. This is one of the coolest songs that I have ever heard. It has a special meaning for me and hopefully you can find a place for it also. I absolutely love when they sing about the low down southern whiskey...

I hate myself a little for not ever knowing about this band. Not American here, but you guys have quite the shitload of awesome artists. Such a groove on this one! And this was pretty much an instant favourite for life.

I was married to a Dixie Chicken once, off and on for about 10 years. I swear this song was written about her, which doesn't surprise me, at all. Haven't seen her in some 30 years now, but this great Little Feat tune always makes me think of her. Fondly, I might add.

Our band still plays this today and folks get up and dance their asses off! I Loved these guys back when they first became public and I continue to do so. I am The Piano Player and have got to tell you, it doesn't get any more fun than playing this kind of music. - Tom Cacy

Finally got to see them last night at Shepherds Bush Empire, London. No Lowell, no Ritchie but the legacy lives on. What a great band.

I first saw them in early 70's at the Rose Garden Ballroom in Pismo Beach. I was a volunteer doing setup. The Feat came out and started warming up. Everyone in the hall just stopped and watched. They were powerful and tight right out of the gate. What a fantastic band - still are but with Lowell - Wow.

song reminds me of when I dated a Rhode Island Red.We had a great 7 months together, then one day she decided to cross the road.
