As a follow-up since I installed the VE-33: ABSOLUTELY the best tire I've ever had on any of my bikes (and there have been a lot over the years). I installed the IRC VE-33 with the Tubliss System so I can run the tire low on pressure like a trials tire. It rides soft as a trials, grips like a trials, and wears well like a trials tire. This tire does excellent in Snow and Mud...which are like Krytonite for trials tires! Syping is optional...next tire I'll compare without it. Ride anywhere!

Hands down, the top best thing you can do for the tire grip is to have the lowest air pressure possible. The Tubliss system enables a 4-6psi tire of this type. A fresh non-syped tire of this brand is excellent so far, although I wouldn't give it the same rating as a fresh syped tire (which does chunk in time).

Tahuya rider here: I got to this video looking for opinions on trials tires. Thank you for the upload and the opinions.

The tire does chunk. Next time I wold only make one or two cuts for syping, instead of the 4 I cut. If your goal is to have longevity from the tire, don't sype...in time the tire will chunk. If your goal is a fantastic traction tire for a few competitive rides, syping as I did here is incredible performance. Hands down, the top best thing you can do for the tire grip is to have the lowest air pressure possible. The Tubliss system enables a 4-6psi tire of this type.

Knobby tires rule on dirt surfaces to bite into the "flexible" material, but not on pavement. You need all the contact you can get on a paved surface and the knobs have far less contact.

Cool, I will have to look into the Tubliss next then. I have a new YZ250 that is almost done being woods worthy. (flywheel weight literally works miracles!) Do you run an 18 inch rim there? The IRC VE33 is holding up better than anything I've tried here on the North East coast in CT. Lots of rocks and more rocks that chunked a new m404 in one ride. This tire looks like I just ran around my yard, lol. I'll try to post you a vid of my own syping job using your method. Thanks

Did any of the sipes tear off. I ended up buying this tire and siped the side lugs. Maybe I'll post a video response of it.
