The final panel discussion of the day during Research Ethics Day 2024 featured Erwin Gianchandani, PhD, Assistant Director of the Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships with the National Science Foundation , and Jorge L. Contreras, JD, James T. Jensen Endowed Professor for Transactional Law at the University of Utah's S.J. Quinney College of Law and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. The session was moderated by Professor Susan M. Wolf, JD, Chair of the Consortium on Law and Values in Health, Environment & the Life Sciences at the University of Minnesota.

"Building Partnerships to Advance Ethical Research: Collaborators, Communities & Companies" brought together interdisciplinary experts to discuss how to build partnerships with investigators, communities, clinical research professionals, and companies to promote the ethical conduct and translation of research. National leaders explored successes and challenges in a wide range of research programs and considered the elements of successful collaboration that promote research integrity, inclusivity, mutual respect, and accountability in the conduct of research.
