This series is honestly the best shit on YT right now. Super informative but simple enough for plebs (like me) to understand. Love it.

Andrew is so fast so even his T-shirt has a small spoiler in the rear! ;-) Tks for another great and informative vid :-)

And now for your next topic.

The "F" Duct and why stalling the rear wing improved top end speed ;)
Great video, and no doubt having the experience in the Air Force and being around fast jets help you in this as well.

My Lotus Elise has a flat floor and a diffuser. Nice to hear it described as a supercar/exotic!

Thank you for always putting up such excellent content. I've been out of the auto-tuning world for the last 15ish years, and your content has really helped me get back up to speed. Much apprecated.

Thank you! great content and food for thought. love the admission that it is all about getting the balance right and customising your aero to work for your application. these 2 videos have taught me a lot about what I need to do to try and crack some better lap times around my home circuits. Thanks Andrew and Andrew ! keep up the great work!

The endplate prevents the air from the high pressure zone above reaching the low pressure zone below within the aeroactive zone for downforce of the wing. Not the other way as you said. But I guess that is what you meant.

S3 RX7, when mazda added their small rear spoiler, lift dropped 70% which is pretty good for a small addition. As for diffusers, many have proved a diffuser does work without a flat floor, but, will work much better with a flat floor. My own fd found a whole lot of under steer when I added the rear diffuser and and others noted the rear squat in the car it didnt have before going down the straights. 3 sessions were the same. Other drivers complained of lack of rear end grip during those sessions, my only issue was front end grip I hadnt encounted before. Last session I removed it, no more under steer. Next meeting, added diffuser AND front splitter, car was relatively neutral again, no float floor. Sure there could have been other factors, but it certainly seemed to us the diffuser created rear downforce and changed the balance of the car.

Love these videos! Really informative and thought provoking! Now having a very basic understanding of these aero concepts, I'm wondering how they apply to wagons and hatch backs. I currently have a 98 impreza wagon

This is why I replaced my lower rear bumper valance of my mk4 Jetta GLI body kit with the stock one, cuz the stock one is higher and lines up perfectly with the bottom of the trunk floor, which is also angled up from the rest of the car like a little diffuser. Next stop, fat lip spoiler and rear aero is done.

This coupled with the low front GLI bumper with the side vents blocked off makes the car very slippery and stable at highway speeds, enough to feel the difference.

Eliminating lift makes a huge difference! 👌

Thank you ! For this enlightening, informative, thorough very well explained discourse that answered so many of my questions. Fantastic !
One question...@ 19:03, you stated the low pressure under the wing wants to spill around the side into the high pressure (on top of the wing). Isn't it the other way around ? Wind tunnel tests show the flow going from the high pressure topside around the side of the wing to the low pressure downside, and thence creating vortices.

Thank you.
I've always was curious about the wing extension, and the N1 spoiler for the R-32 GTR and to see if they actually worked or not.
