The last one reminded me of a friend long ago who would get his younger brothers to clean the house or he would call the devil. They would protest until he would pick up the phone, dial, and start talking to the devil and they would be screaming 'Please please hang up we'll clean the house!' He even knew the trick for getting the phone to call back and he would answer talking to the devil "Oh no need they promised to do the work."

my favourite was this giant cow pushing buildings apart and waiting for her was rows upon rows of milkmen with empty bottles.
A variation of the thumping closet was the “floating head of death” where a balloon with a monster face could be made visible in the window by the father to frighten an inconvenient child. If you google it you can see it.

Thank you so much, whoever put this up. You took that amount of time to say exactly what I would say, if I could ever speak to Gary Larson in person. He is the Twisted genius that we all need in these torn up horrible times. Something to distract us, something to make us laugh. I think we can all relate to everything Gary Larson does, I love the way his people are always fat, and stupid, and ready to get their guns and kill anything and everything. I'm fascinated by the children are always fat and ugly and stupid. As so many children are. He does a great job of holding the mirror up to us all.

Gary Larson actually told us that his brother terrified him with monster set-ups when he was little. Why didn't the narrator say that? That back-story would have made this interesting. Without it, it's just cartoons.

It always astounds me the people that insert themselves into a video for nothing more than the need to be the center of attention.

Narration is rather insipid despite the quality of Larson's works.

Yeah, I get that American humour is broad, it isn't subtle, you don't do irony or really get sarcasm but come on! Celebrate the Far Side, great. Why do you have to describe the picture and read the text and then explain the joke? Granted, if this was an audio only podcast, you might need to explain what can't be seen, but then who would do an audio only podcast about a visual subject?

There is a whole string of these videos, from different channels, who think that people will watch their humourless explanations of obvious jokes. If the audience needs to have the joke explained, they probably are incapable of appreciating it in the first place. Gary Larsen was successful because his jokes made sense to people around the world and they didn't come with an explanatory film explaining what was happening.

Far from showing respect for "The Far Side" you have shown how little esteem you have for it, since you believe it is not good enough to stand alone.
