I gave everything I had (emotionally) to my ex who abandoned me the day after my parent died, after a fantastic 5-year relationship. In one fell swoop he destroyed my faith in relationships, my trust in men and my belief in love - stone dead. I've never been the same since. I can understand just how terrified Ken feels to have been betrayed in this way when he gave HIS all to his former wife but I hope he does go through with the wedding because he's been granted a second chance at love where sadly I wasn't.

He should be scared, that is the truth. Second marriages have a very high failure rate. More than 60% and some stats say near 70%. Your second marriage is more likely to fail than your first one. Those numbers go up if both have been previously divorced before as well.

Whether he actually gets married again or not is a moot point, and entirely his and his SO's call.

As Dr. John pointed out, the main thing is for the caller to let go of the feeling that somehow he was to blame for not being able to fix his first marriage.

It wasn't his fault and he had no control over what happened. He didn't do anything wrong; in fact, he behaved decently throughout his marriage.

He can let go any feelings of guilt, which FREES him to experience love and joy with his new partner on his new path. So sweet! 💞

Regardless of whose fault the divorce was I’d be very skeptical of getting married again. 2nd and 3rd marriages have a very high failure rate. I would just be partners.

Men are more at risk in the west. Financially and mentally. Nothing hurts more than sacrificing everything for the one you love and then losing everything. To be finessed and then be praying mantised. Salute to all the men who are rebuilding mentally and physically after losing everything

Once your divorce is finalized you are single. "Divorced" is the process between filing the paperwork and the judge signing off on the separation. Marriage is about working together to build up something great. It's not just a series of events and photos. What do you want to build together?
