AI and UI are two exciting and rapidly-growing fields in the tech industry, but they are quite different from one another.

In this video, we'll help you understand the key differences between AI and UI and determine which one might be the best fit for your skills and interests.

What's my story? An engineer, in love with his job, started teaching on the side. Got lucky. Impacted 1000s of lives. Had to finally leave his job to increase the impact surface area. Raised $5M funding to fix education. Is learning day and day about startups and building a valuable product.

How is it going? A decade of engineering helps in systems thinking and product building. Learning about Strategy, Marketing, People Management, and Finance on the go.

What am I building? Today, 25 million Indians prepare for government job entrance exams. They do it for years together. The probability of success is less than 1% but they still do it. Why? For the lack of a structured alternative to launch their white-collar career. I am building Invact to bridge this gap.
How? Follow me to know, it's a long story. I am telling it in parts every day.

First of all, what Tanay sir is saying, I will say is mostly correct.I am working in Analytics for more than 4 years and I will say Data Science is a research driven field. You can take a lateral entry or make an indirect transition. Ideally a software engineer who has deployed codes in production, will make a very good data scientist ( or an AI Enginner). Honestly don't go by these jargons. Go for quality work and as Tanay sir said, top 1% in every field will get the most. I will say, it's better to go deeper into Data Engineering than Data Science (trust me they get insanely paid in both service or product based companies). I have a lot to learn but I will definitely say don't go by flashy jargons by edtech institutes.

4 years ago, everyone said AI and ML was just a phase and it will be over just like blockchain technology.
3 years ago, everyone said AI models were still too weak to handle basic engineering tasks
2 years back, ChatGPT was also called a phase and now we have all the FAANG companies making their own LLMs to provide services(APIs) to smaller companies so that not everyone has to go through the hassle of building their own language model for their own specific tasks.
RAG is coming about which makes integrating LLMs to your tasks even more easier. I also dont belive AI is going to take jobs, rather it will require newer people to use this fascinating technology to be integrated with the existing product.

Stop making it seem as if a career in AI is a bad thing, career in any tech domain is just as difficult as this

Web development is a crowd space as its easy to learn
Al is less crowded as people find it difficult and lose interest after some time
But if you are interested in AlML then go for it

Being a Data Scientist and Data engineer myself, I agree with most of the things Tanay said. But there is a misconception that AI and Data Science are the same thing. I agree that in India there are very few jobs for AI engineers, since it's a highly research based job. But there are a good number of jobs for Data Scientists, ( still not as much as software engineers). And yes, Data Scientist is also a high barrier job. I'd recommend if you wanna get into Data Science, try getting hired as a Data Engineer first, then make a transition if you like to.

Seriously!!, I know that in the field of AI maths should be strong but how you can say that PhD level maths???? Students are persuing BTech after class 12th not after PhD in mathematics. Don't put glamour on UI by showing inappropriate sides of AI .

AI now is much like the film industry, everyone wants to struggle and get in, but the real money as you said is only made by the 1%, the Sharukh, Rajnikanth et al

In my college, my juniors are forced to make a final year project in AI/ML just so that research paper can be published😂

What I liked most:
1. No problem if u are slow just hamesha lage raho
2. Ek saath saari cheeze karne ki koshish mat karo
3. Be calm aur hamesha bade bade packages ke baare me mat socho..

4.Although, I don't have a fair knowledge on AI OR UI

Edit: Your Simplicity **Most**

00:02:10, You yourself are saying that it will be automated and would be done by AI and If things were to get automated and work will be done by AI then people will be needed to create those AI and manage those AI's. So how its not a thing to make a career in? (:

Aapka Metaversity kaisa chal raha hai. Agar AI future nahi hai aur aapne Metaverse ka koi future socha hoga ki aapne apna product banaya. Uska kya hua. Kyuki kaam toh aap bahut karte ho barber shop me bhi kaam karte ho dekha hai.

He is stating very true facts. Most people underestimate the demand for fileds like UI, Distributed processing and database management. Even devops with cloud specialization is a great option.

Our university forces students to publish research paper from 2nd year. So when you reach 4th year, you need to publish total 3 research paper in 2nd, 3rd, 4th year, to pass in exam. And the interesting thing is every faculty will force to make research paper in data science and AI even if you don't know anything about that field. I can totally relate with your saying.

I was not sold an AI course but AI degree. Initially college promised a full fledged AI degree like IIT Hyderabad but then I found out it was some stupid specialization jaha pe ham na Computer Science ke rahe or na hi Artificial Intelligence ke ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nice trick keep people in development fence just because you have courses and playlist on that and you want to retain your audience. Web dev is going to die in few years, bhed bakri jaisa sabko website hi banana hai. AI will develop full stack websites in matter of seconds in future.

I have 4 years of experience in core AI/ML and i hope i could have got this advice earlier😅.
Actually AI/ML should be treated just like a branch of Computer Science rather than overhyped as it is currently.

I started my career as an Machine Learning Engineer in one of the best company. But, due to recent market situation, I caught under recession. Now, I’m utilising my time to learn JS based Frontend Technologies and will try to apply for the same. All thanks to Tanay Sir for making a video on this topic. I’m feeling motivated now. 🙏🏻

I am from an IIT. There were many AI roles with good packages during placement, but only handful of UI jobs.

Since AI is gonna automate all the tasks I think there will be more demand of ai engineers in the market. Devin may already take away most of non AI/ML jobs in the future
