FYI: Pentatonix will be awarded a STAR on the HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME in 2023, the first acapella group to be so honored. And yes, it’s a really big deal. Billboard said about Pentatonix: “Pentatonix has succeeded where no other acapella group has: bringing acapella into the mainstream”…so happy and proud for them! #PentaholicSinceDayOne

When this came out... I said it and I'll say it again... Scott's lower baritone range is my favorite part of his voice.

Mitch is a counter tenor with a 6-octave range. His voice is positively angelic.

The verse you didn’t recognize is sung in Italian in the Dion/Bocelli version. This version gave me goosebumps!

I am impressed with Mitch’s articulation every syllable, of every vowels and consonants.

THIS is their gold standard. Their masterpiece. It's glorious.

There is no one person and no group I would rather listen to more than Pentatonix. What these incredible talents do for every song they sing is unbelievable.

I don't think I will ever stop getting shivers from their performance.

Apparently, what I've heard from another reactor, the bridge was originally sung in Italian, but PTX ( Scott Hoying - baritone, Mitch Grassi - counter tenor, Kirsten Maldonado - mezzo-soprano, Kevin Olusola - beatoxer & tenor, Matt Sallee - bass) decided to do it in English.I suggest that you watch the Making of Evergreen for how this group works to put their albums/songs together. It was a set used for this video, btw. I hope you explore more of this excellent group. They are well worth it. Subbing for more Pentatonix (PTX) Some suggestions: Mary Did You Know, Shallow, Love Again ( an original), Amazing Grace, Sounds of Silence, Gold.

Pentatonix is known for respecting the original song that they cover, they're very sensitive to that. One of my favorite Pentatonix originals is Water.

Have you listened to their DANCE of the SUGAR PLUM Fairy from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ??? YOU MUST !!! They won a Grammy for it. Thank you. ❤😂

This group is off the charts - not only can they make a song their own but they have the uncanny ability to stay true to the song - all have their own unique style and vocal range - they could sing the alphabet and make it sound heavenly ❤❤❤❤❤

Yes they can sing anything! Check out their Grammy winning Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy a song with no words sung by a group with no instruments.

Mitch Grassi (counter tenor), Scott Hoying (baritone), Kirstin Maldonado (mezzo soprano), Matt Sallee (bass), Kevin Olusola (tenor, vocal perc, cello). And there is a great behind the scenes video for this.

First guy: Mitch. Hence the expression (after experiencing Mitch's incredible range): "I was just Mitch slapped."

"The Prayer" was written for the 1998 animated film "Quest for Camelot" by powerhouse pop songwriters David Foster and Carole Bayer Sager. Celine Dion sang a short solo version in the movie in English, voicing the heroine's mother. Two Italian songwriters did an Italian solo version that Bocelli sang during the credits. Dion and Bocelli later recorded a duet version that appeared on both their albums in 1998-99. And of course other covers followed, and lots of really bad amateur attempts. The lyrics you are puzzled about are from the all-English version that some artists have recorded, which may be a re-worked version of Foster's original.

Great reaction! Mitch is a counter tenor and he’s singing the Celine Dion part I think. Scott’s gorgeous baritone. I love the to and fro between Scott and Mitch - I think it’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard. It will be criminal if they don’t get their 4th Grammy for this one. It’s a set, sadly! There is a behind the scenes on this one. Mitch’s voice leaves me speechless, it hits me in the feels every time. We should give a big shout out to Kirsten for her bits with Mitch and Matt on bass, Kevin on beatboxing. Truly magical.
