Thank you! Every tutorial I sow on how to grow asparagus was in a the ground and I don't have a yard. Also everyone grow them from crowns. I don't have a yard and I have seeds so it seemed I don't have the conditions tho grow them. But here you are! Just like me and that gave me hope that I, too, can grow asparagus!

Grows wild near my place. I went out with a shovel one fall and grabbed 12 or 15 large ferns and transplanted them into the fence line behind my house. Chicken wired them off to keep critters out and a couple of years later plenty of spears for just me 15 years later plenty for a couple of families of 5.

I used cattle feed tubs from start to finnish. Then cut off bottom of tub and put whole tub in ground up to top. Worked well I never even took seeds out of bulb.

I planted asparagus some years back and have enjoyed the harvest now about two years. I have learned mostly through trial and error. The one thing I am not certain of is that after I harvest some, I noticed they died out. I don't understand what I did wrong. I have been viewing every video on asparagus and yours is so detailed, thank you. I did notice how you cut off the asparagus. I just am lost as to why they die off after I harvested them. Any advice is surely welcomed. Thank you again for such a wonderful and detailed video.
