Great lesson Ricky, the tip about not using the root note as part of the question other than to start the phrase is brilliant! I'm a veteran of 100s of You Tube lessons from many different channels and this is the first time I've heard about it!

The simple fact that you mention Alan Lomax, the greatest curator and preserver of real blues imo, tells me all I need to know about you Rick 👌 top bloke

Good one Ricky. Can't quite put it all together yet but I know it's useful. This 68 year old brain has a hard time retaining things. Makes me wish I had been more of a student when I was younger and better able to learn. Instead, I learned a bunch of chords and a few licks and just started banging away and didn't want to take the time for theory and learning scales and all that stuff. I really enjoy your vids and thoughts. Keep em coming.

Awesome Ricky, can you perhaps also do a video showing the same idea, but moving towards the guitar body, rather than towards the nut ?

I know this is an old thread but my question is, what chords are you playing over? Are you resolving to a C over an a minor chord? I understand relative major/minor chords

RICKY COMISKEY))))>>> can you make a video showing a bunch of ROCK guitar solos that used Major Pentatonic scales not minor pentatonic?
