There should be a federal law asserting that innocent bystanders have an absolute right to video police arrest events and that any cop abridging that right should be permanently fired.

How much longer until it becomes legal to use force to defend yourself from a cop that is abusing you???

If this attacker was ANYONE BUT A COP, the victim/bystanders could have legally shot him. But because the attacker is a cop, the victim just has to endure...whatever the cop does to him???

I believe it's called police brutality.

If a regular group citizens jumped on someone in this same manner you can best believe they would be facing felony charges with no bond or sky high bond but these clowns get a paid vacation.

A mature dept? The police dept should be disbanded, Chief fired, Mayor needs hard questions. Bring in all new cops.

"The sign of a mature department" FFS there were 15 officers involved in this, even if not all of them took part in the beatings they were all going along with it and part of the attempted cover up. This came out because of video footage, not because a single one of the "good apples" came forward. But all the mayor can do is big up the police dept.

FL House Bill HB11, will let officers force anyone with a camera to leave a scene and not film them. Just what it looks like we need less transparency right?

"Impeding, Provoking, or Harassing Law Enforcement Officers; Prohibits approaching law enforcement officer or remaining within specified distance of such officer with specified intent after receiving warning not to approach."

If they did that to a dog they would be facing felony's. Welcome to the USA where an animal has more rights than a human

The Miami Beach police department is littered with police officers working for the Cuban cartel.

Felony Aggravated Assault and battery . These cop should have been booked into the jail . Every punch and kick should be battery charge .

Only five? I saw at least 15 officers who could have been charged with aiding and abetting! Ridiculous

The appropriate action is to put them on paid leave? Where is the discipline?

How come everyone else who beating someone else up is locked up and gets into trouble, but the ones who are supposed to serve, are the ones who beating up on everyone. There shouldn't be any protections for anyone. But all of my life, I know that to be a lie, because people who are rich or super rich don't get locked up or serve any time. Samn they don't pay taxes, so just stop it!

Makes me wonder if judges put perps behind jail for a longer time, if cops would see that as enough punishment and stop the violent revenge beat downs. crzy
