The only problem I have with this issue is many only assume this only happens in the dental field but same goes for the hospitals, and other medical doctors as well, it’s really all about business and upselling

As a business owner I can honestly say the best ways to highlight these situations are by Negative reviews & complains to Your insurance company.. May not always get the results was hoping for, but gets the word out and issue investigated! Always leave a negative review and file a complaint with your insurance company..

I was told by my dentists billing person that my tooth implant total cost was going to be $2900 start to finish. When it was all done I had to pay $5000. This was without anycomplications. Apparently the tooth implant was $2900. The crown was $2100. I hate that dentists office. They totally misled me as to the cost and nobody told me about the pain. I despise dentists.

Redwood Dental in Roseville Michigan had a sign where they're paying people $50 to give them a 5-star review because they had so many one-star reviews they weren't getting any business. When I went there and told them by their prices were outrageous they still had the nerve to offer me $100 for every friend I recommend go there. I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to go to that crooked place. It's a corporate-run dentist that hires out of college graduates to do dental work. The dentist that I seen looked to be in her twenties. I was wondering if she was old enough to drink.

I’m 21, went to the dentist after 3 years (covid m, college, and having a single parent played a part in this) was told all my tee th were cavity’s and was supposed to get 6 root canals and 6 crowns but somehow I ended with 10 crowns and they looked awful. Complained and stoped going, got it fixed but prob gonna file a dental malpractice.

Screw the reviews, my soon to be past dentist has nothing but great reviews, he's screwed up a bunch of times with me over 15 years, including breaking a file in a molar during a root canal (then hid that fact) I ended up paying him to remove the tooth, no compensation. More, much more than that since.

I can't find a good dentist to save my life! My newest is an "overcrowner" Gave me no reason why anything was necessary other than 3 need to be crowned. I had one done and now 3 weeks later I'm in pain and looking for another dentist.

My dentist got a new toy, a laser. At least that's what he used on me. So i get home and it starts to hurt. No sleep just horrible pain. That kept getting worse and worse. I was sooo angry; he's lucky i didn't knock his block off.

Dentist's greed, I do believe, exceeds that of doctors. I dumped my dentist when he sold his practice to a corporation. #2 oversold everything; tried to shaft several members of my family and me. Maybe he didn't like me calling him by his given name; he got cold and got canned. #3 sold me a contract to save me money. I lost money. He waved the "crown" flag in my face (no tooth above it) and got canned, #4 charged me $415 to replace a filling; they're done after one visit. I'm going to try one about 100 miles out of the city where my sister goes. Maybe he's less slimy than the aforementioned. Another sister's dog had to be put down. That cost me over $600. Add vets. My medical is at the VA Hospital. I thank God for that!

The biggest ripoff add on is the crown. There is absolutely no reason to crown a tooth
unless it has a major crack. I have a couple teeth that were broke on the ends
in the lower front. An honest dentist just did what they call a build up where
they just fill in and build bu the broken off area. These build ups have
been there for over 30 years without issue. The cost of each was like
$150. I went to a dentist just after the covid fiasco and he immediately
started talking about crowning all my lower front teeth to the tune of
Yea right. He reviewed my X Rays and found some issue
with 22 of my teeth. Seriously? Needless to say I never went back to that guy.
Also, why can I get a crown in one of the best dentist offices in Budapest
Hungary for $380 euros and the same procedure costs $1, 600
where I now live in north Florida? Every dentist I go to here always finds
some tooth that needs their beloved crown. Why would anyone want to
have a tooth that is chipped ground down to a small nub and then have some
chunk of the same stuff they use for fillings glued to it?
Crowns are nothing more then a dentist's way to finance their
Mercedes and kid's college funds at your expense. If you have no
pain or issues with your teeth and any dentist starts talking about crowns,
run away as fast as you can. I was told by a dentist in Budapest that most
crowns he has seen people get in other countries were totally unnecessary.
Oh, and Budapest and Hungary in general are noted for being the
destination for people on what they call dental holidays where they are
looking for the best dental care in the world for an affordable price.
There are honest dentists out therein the USA but they are few and far between.

Most dentists are garbage professionals. They are in it for the money and nothing else. Praise all that is good in this world if you find a dentist that cares about your health but oral and mental bc they are going to impact both either positively or negatively. I’ve found a great dentist… when I told him my dental history he did the work I had done previously was purposefully done wrong so I would come back and pay more. I had dentists not tell me that I needed fillings done so that way I would need a root canal and pay more. I’m just glad this dentist set me in a plan, showed me every single issue I could literally see with my own eyes. And now I’ll have all my teeth fixed in two years time. I’ll only need two bridge and crowns on my two missing molars.

I’m gonna let you all know that starting every January ask for you billing statement for the previous year. Most ppl don’t even know that they over paid and had a credit that was taken by the office.
