If you’re flying in the 737 the doors open to heaven

It's a new plane and just delivered few months ago... wow. The dude who was seating two seats to the right must been one lucky man.

After three significant warnings on that 737 max 9, that aircraft should not have been allowed to fly, whether short haul or long haul.
Alaska needs to give the public answers as to what conclusions they arrived at as to why this aircraft was safe to fly after three warnings.
Am grateful for the fact that everyone made it safely and whatever finding, that all other aircraft are examined thoroughly so that this incident does not happen again.

That’s not a window. That’s a blanked-out emergency exit. Manufactures add extra emergency exit locations so the airlines can reconfigure the seats in different locations. The plug that goes there must of failed while aircraft was pressurized.

It really is amazing, how things like this can happen in this day and age after everything that’s happened in the past with planes ✈️

I mentioned years ago to keep your ion Boeing as they keep cutting costs. These things are going to happen more and more often.

The old jets Boeing made are safer than the new ones.

737 Max killed hundreds in 2 fatal crashes 4 years ago. Now this on another 737 Max which could easily have gone tragic.
The FIA needs to get to the core.

As and aviation nerd I would just like to say to news reporters, don’t make people scared of flying, it is a 1 in 100 million chance of something like that happening and your odds of living if something bad happens is 95%, and also it is not always an emergency landing, if there is a problem with the plane the pilot is allowed to break any/all FAA regulations for the safety of the people on board, the pilots can test it like a normal landing, they can have arc clear all runways by saying mayday mayday mayday and stating what’s going on, only in some cases pilots would commence an “emergency landing”.

What if this happened to a trans atlantic or pacific flight when it is over the ocean at 40, 000 ft

Absolutely shocked that there would be a problem with a 737 max plane… Boeing is so conscientious about safety.

It’s not a window it was a door, ,on a brand new plane, a kid sitting near had his t shirt sucked out the door and it was only his mother hanging on to him that stopped him following it

The door that blew out is installed by a non Boeing company after Boeing delivered them. Who at the NTB or FAA thinks that planesshould have door modifications??? Ridiculous

That's scary, you're on the plane, next thing, your window comes up missing! Craziness

I would swear I was about to be sucked out if I were sitting right there. I'd never step foot on another plane after this. People just aren't doing their jobs anymore, and gone are the days when protocol and safety regulations were a non-negotiable

It wasn't a window, it was a door.

737 max - not having a good track record for sure. One problem added . Thank god all passengers are safe !

This sounds like a problem Boeing had a couple years ago with a rear luggage door coming off of a flight and a pile of luggage was lost out the opening. A grounding of planes took place and I think it was found that the door was not secured 100 % at the time .Maybe the same problem again, poorly secured / locked side door . Maybe a sensor says it is OK and it really isn't 100 %
