My second ever duathlon (the last one being several years ago), I share my thoughts and experiences around this thrilling but very tiring multi-sport event!

Thank you for watching this video. I hope that you keep up with the regular videos I post on the channel, subscribe, and share your learnings with those that need to hear it. Your comments are important to me, so please take a second and say ‘Hey’ ;).

Ed is an elite cyclist, 2019 British Hill Climb Champion and former Under 23 British RR Champion. He has raced as a Continental level Professional Rider in Japan, Korea, Australia, Canada, Azerbaijan to name a few. He is also a public speaker, coach, and remains grounded with regular returns to his roots at Bynea Cycling Club. At the start of 2021, the Discord community began, and plonked many of Ed's viewers in to a 350+ strong group of people that had many things in common. Not least wanting to explore the world and pedal their bikes faster!

Ed now prioritises having fun with my hard earned fitness and knowledge in the sport. Showcasing that maybe there is an alternative to racing for teams when you can race for yourself and your community of followers and brands. This YouTube channel is a docu-series highlighting what it’s like to be a cyclist in today’s competitive age of sport.

The pre race flap. What a classic. Good work Ed dipping your toe in this duathlon / triathlon game!

I love seeing this in comparison to you before the hill climbs last year where you were really calm and this time you’re slightly out of your usual comfort zone and it shows with the pinning/sticking issues

Nicely done. That feeling of running through treacle for the last 2.5km is always a unique feeling!

Electrical tape down first on the bike and helmet. Then put the number stickers on. Much much easier to take off and clean off afterwards. The helmet sticker is mainly for the race photographers.

Soon signing up to my first duathlon London duathlon in Richmond park doing the half which is similar distances to what you have done, interesting to find out what it’s like 🤟🏾

Nice one throwing your hat in the ring! I loved your recollection of the happy riders setting out on the bike leg as you came in.

I'll be doing my first duathlon in April. One of my teammates says I need rubber bands for my shoes if I run my bike out to the transition mark 👀 How did you decide to tackle your transition from run to bike?

Yep. Have to put all the stickers/numbers on...at least here in the US.

Well done Ed hopefully towards the end of your career when cycling isn’t the priority you could try a triathlon

Really interesting & fun to follow your journey into the unknown - shame no video footage is allowed - I mean it would help popularise the sport🤷‍♀️Well done for a decent result - maybe they should introduce compulsory smiling & waving between competitors in RRs 🖐😄
