Fierce chops! I have a Spark 1 and have ordered a 2. They are terrific to rehearse, experiment, loop, etc. great review Elmo.

The big question is: Did they solve the "too much bass" problem so I can free up the EQ spot in the pedal line up?

Sounds great for what it is! There is also a limited time upgrade offer for anyone who already has the original Spark 40, just need to register the original one on their site to get it. Thank you for confirming that I made the right choice in doing so.

I have seen some complaints in various places about the battery being an extra cost, BUT, I think that is the best way to go. If instead they simply included it as a built in, non-optional battery, then they would have to raise the price. Then, all the people who don't have any need for battery power would still be paying extra for something they don't even want. This way if you need it you can get it, but if you don't you aren't paying extra for it.

I have the spark 40, mini, and the Go and they are all really great. The one feature I wanted that they didn't have was the looper, so the spark 2 is pretty neat now that it comes with a looper.

Thanks Elmo for the demo/review/comments on this! Great playing as always

Thanks for the review, i have the original Spark (and i don't care about the looper) so in my case i don't see enough reason to upgrade (besides, the new one is a couple centimeters taller and doesn't fit in my desk), one thing i noticed is that they still have the graphic EQ in the same slot as the modulation fx so you can't run modulation and EQ at the same time, i hope they fix that in the future.

I just ordered one after watching this, this thing looks sweet, can’t wait to mess around with it

I preordered. Being able to loop in my living room without needing a bunch of extra stuff will be nice

What I really need is to be able to play like Elmo.

I had the Spark 1 for less than 24 hours. The speakers were awful even for a practice amp when compared to my little Marshall DFX30. It also buzzed like hell so I had to plug in a USB cable to remove the buzz. I'm hoping the 2.0 is a better attempt at what should have been a cool concept.

Yes, I received my Spark 2 and was able to use it for a week and a half. Went to use it and couldn’t get it to power on at all. I filled out the form for customer support. It took about a week to hear from them. without doing any troubleshooting on it. It started working. I put in a formal request to send it back for a replacement or a new one. I have sent it back to PG. It’s about a week, I have not heard any word from them.

Elmo balanced and fair review, as always. The Spark mini is my goto practice amp, I love it.

I was concerned with the muddy low end as well with the 40. When I learned they corrected it in the 40 2 and listened to a few YT reviews, I purchased. I'm a low end intermediate player. The versatility and options available I wouldn't feel comfortable purchasing that amount of equipment. The technology is way cool!

I’m torn btwn the Spark 2 & the Edge. I was leaning towards the Spark 2 because basically I just wanted a kick ass practice amp for guitar…but the Edge also appeals to me in case I want to dabble in vocals sometime in the future. 🤔

How does this compare to Hotone Pulze?
At the moment I have a spark 1 and a Yamaha thr 10 ii.
The heavy distortion in the spark is so bad compared to the thr that I don't want go for this again. Also liked some deep delay in in hotone review so can't decide where to go next.

Hey Elmo nice Test.
It would be very interesting now to compare to Nux mighty Space that comes with Pedal and BT transmitter and the hotone pulze. I think that all this have the same format, but which is the best in tone or App cost or App usability or best all in One solution. I hate monthly app costs...

what you mean??🙂

Top video Elmo, I am trying to pluck up courage to start looping with a view to doing solo gigs - so obviously the looper feature is huge as a current Spark 40 owner. Your playing is amazing and i can tell ive made a good decision to upgrade already!

you are one of the few guys who reviewed the Hotone Pulze as well. Aside from the feature differences, How does this compare to that? Which do you prefer and why?
