Hey, you might think that this info makes me your lawyer, but it doesn’t and I’m not. Sorry, but I AM NOT YOUR LAWYER unless we have an engagement agreement. I am just providing public information here, like a library does, and am not providing you with legal advice about your situation. So, it would be totally unreasonable for you to conclude we have an attorney-client relationship just because you're viewing this information.

Not to also mention that when performing a citizen's arrest, you need to stay in the same spot you made the arrest and not transport them anywhere.

My parents "citizens arrested" a bully of mine when I was in 10th grade. He and a bunch of his friends egged my house (Vandalism!), and he was the slowest of the bunch. (They very much operated under a "you don't have to be faster than the person chasing you, you just have to be faster than one of your friends). My stepfather caught up with him, my stepfather was barefoot in his underwear when he went tearing out of the house to catch the kids who egged the house. He dragged him back to the house, and waited until cops arrived.

The stupid thing, was his friends all came back to try and convince him to just run (He tried, my stepfather got him again...) By then, I was out on the lawn and I saw each and every one of their faces. I didn't say much, but once they all looked like they were going to run, I reminded them I know all their names, where they go to school and where some of them live. Cops would be showing up on their front porches either way. So 4 cruisers came by to pick up the 8 of them and escort them home.

Never got bullied again though. Something tells me they got more than just a grounding after that night.

Doing a citizen arrest seems like a good way to get your nose pushed into your brain and get sued for the guys dry cleaning cost on top

This one always got me. You need MORE proof than the COPS. And you had better be able to prove it to others as well.

It's best to call the cops and let them know where the person is headed.

Citizen arrests mean detaining someone until the cops get there with valid (or appear to be) reasons, as long I've ever known. 🤷‍♀️

I love how this guy just shows up like once a day while I’m scrolling though shorts and gives me advice

This needs to be a PSA throughout the state of Georgia.

Interesting fact: if you pay attention you will notice every villan in batman always goes to arkyum rather than an actual prison. Its because although batman caught them he was a vigilante and could not be used as a witness in court. So the best the lawyers could do is send them to a looney bin.

Even more interesting is that in one book the joker is given a bunch of money in a dead gangsters will. And he quits being a villain. Well turns out the money was fake and he the clown prince of crime was fooled. But more importantly the amount was in the millions and because it was given to him in a will he had to pay taxes on it. Well now he's got a bit of a problem. If he doesn't pay and is arrested the IRS will send him to federal prison. But he can't start doing crime again when he'd quit in such a big fashion everyone would know and his reputation would be ruined.

So what does he do? He starts committing crimes hides his identity and takes painstaking care not to do any of his usual jokes and silliness. Eventually pays the IRS and returns to crime stating he'd gotten bored without it.

Thats right the joker is more afraid of the IRS than batman

Commiting a citizens arrest is also a great way to get horrendously injured so do not attempt to do so.
