In 2018 lost 120 pounds on a meat only carnivore diet. I have been working to maintain that weight loss ever since. December 7th I had an extended tummy tuck (skin removal) and diastasis recti muscle repair. I recorded my pre-op, pieces of the surgery, and documented a lot of my recovery for this video. Let me know if you would like to see more follow ups and ask in the comments any questions you have for me.

I also documented things day by day on Instagram and have the whole journey saved to my highlights. If you are looking for more details on my surgery and recovery you can come find me on Instagram @lauraespath

People need to stop stepping out of their lane telling others what they SHOULD HAVE DONE! Every body is different and skin is different. You did what you needed to do to make a finished YOU. You look wonderful and your choice was apparently the right one FOR YOU! Congratulations on your progress.

Laura I had this exact surgery 37 years ago, and listening to your journey brings back so many memories for me. I remember the extreme pain of having all my tummy muscles fixed. At the time I was working a full time job and took the time off to have the surgery at a very respected hospital. The one thing I was surprised about and a little shocked at the time is that my health insurance covered the whole thing. I loved the results and was really thrilled with the outcome. But this surgery even though I was young was very difficult but I never regretted having made that decision. Congratulations on everything you have accomplished and the encouragement you have given to countless people. 💕

Your looking great Laura! A true inspiration to so many. I was a bit over 400lbs at my heaviest and at this time I'm down to 267 on a (mostly) keto diet and watching your journey and being able to find new things to try because you showed new foods and such to us is a huge help to me. Thank you!! I wish both you and your husband the best on your continued journey.

People don't understand, they have no actual education regarding anatomy. Loose skin can only be resolved from surgical removal. There are no diets or exercises to remove loose skin period. You look great but more important you seem happy with yourself. Kudos to you!

I had tummy tuck and muscle repair also about 5 years ago. Best decision ever. I only took 3 days off work also and my coworkers didn’t know I had surgery. I hid my drains in baggy shirts in the arms. I only took pain meds for 2 days and slept in chair for 2 days. I feel my recovery was very easy and I started lifting weights again at 5 weeks. I never wore any compression . My doctor didn’t recommend it. It was a great reward for all the hard work! Thanks for sharing your story.

I worked in the OR with a plastic surgeon for near 20 years. I’m enjoying hearing the before, during and after from the patient’s POV, because that’s what I used for pre-op teaching. You’re giving great info, And it’s very needed ❤ The ONLY reason to have this type of surgery is to because YOU want it, and I was so happy to hear you say that.

Bravo to you for sharing those candid images of your bodily legacy.
In your position, I couldn't have done that.
That you do is invaluable to others on the road behind you.

I'm repeating myself here. I have the deepest respect for you documenting this, for others who choose that option. I wouldn't, but I understand why it was so important to do for you. Well done 😘

20k ….. worth every freaking penny! You look amazing!
*I giggled at the dry brushing advice. Surgery is the way to go.

If I was younger I'm pretty sure I would do this. I am 71 years old, and I just don't want to put my body through any unnessary trauma. I've read that the general anesthesia is damaging to brain cells, and at my age, I feel like I need to preserve all I can. 😅 But it sure would be nice to have that flat stomach! You look great!

You don’t have to explain your surgery to ANYONE Laura! I think you look beautiful either way. That’s a very private decision. Nonetheless, you’re brave for sharing. Love your videos! You encourage me on my Carnivore journey! Blessings ❤️🙏🏼
