My brother has the XP version. Bought it new from our local dealer. I’m thinking of using it but I have a 550xp, 372xp (pre EPA), and new 395xp.

my 268 was a beast. ate many saws up with it.

The 268 was 100 percent made in Sweden. They were Husqy's answer to guys like me who leaned out 266's a blew them up in 6 months. They put this rediculuosly huge jet in the carb so you couldn't get them to scream. As soon as we started putting 266 carbs on them they cut real well. Then they stopped making them for the 272. They were not fakes

ALL 268's are 100% Husqvarna made in Sweden. My recoil cover says 268XP and the top cover as well, however the serial number just says Husqvarna 268. Tough as hell though.

I have a 268 XP...Fantastic large saw. It has eaten alive anything I've thrown at it.
There was both a 268 and a 268XP version made by Husqvarna. I have the same problem with dealers today not knowing this is a legitimate Husky saw. 'Never heard of it...blah blah blah'...
No, it isn't a chinese knockoff... dumb dealer. Or, maybe he knows it is a classic and is trying to get you to sell it to him cheap..

hi there, i went into my local husqvarna dealer today with 268 412 saw, the fella there told me that my saw was fake they are a fake chinese copy he said husqvarna never made this model, so now i dont know if this is a genuine saw, do you know what year they where made as mine is very clean almost new, i like your videos very helpful. thanks.
