Accelerating User Experience with Edge Computing

At eBay we are very passionate about providing our users the best experience. One of the key aspects of enhancing user experience is ensuring fast page/app load times irrespective of the platform users are on.

In an effort to realize our mission, we built a platform called UFES (Unified Front End Services). UFES is a software stack deployed at numerous small ebay PoPs (Points Of Presence) across the world to accelerate dynamic content delivery. The small footprint of PoPs brings its own challenges in terms of efficiency, availability, management, etc.

In this talk, we would like to share our experiences and lessons learnt.
