Just want to clarify that in the Philippines, we don't celebrate independence day on July 4 anymore. It is considered the Philippine Republic Day until the 1980's and now Philippine-American Friendship Day. Our independence day is June 12 which was the declaration of independence from Spain. And as far as I know here in the Philippines, no one really cares abiut July 4 technically being our actual independence day.
