I think that when you open up a command prompt or use Linux, you already can scare most of the people out there.

Fun fact for Linux users: Changing to an unused tty (ie. Ctrl+Alt+F3) and executing `cat /dev/urandom` is enough to convince most normies you're a hacker.

The only thing scarier than a Linux hacker is an Arch Linux hacker

Steps to become hecker:
1- open 5 terminals
2- run topgrade
3- run cmatrix
4- run htop
5- run ranger
6- run neofetch

you're a certified hecker now

I like that the way everyone pretends to be a hacker is to load up so much tech jargon that nobody understands what's going on 😂

Meanwhile hackers usually just type a couple commands and have 2 terminals open, maybe their cherrytree notes too

Never pretended, never will.
Just what we are.

Actually, linux users pretending to be hackers are just normal linux users installing chrome

I mean, cmatrix is also fine too.

My personal favorite is the 'sl' package.

I’d just like to interject for a moment. What you’re refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/LInux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux.

Me when I watched this: Oh, that's a window manager, without a desktop environment, running various scripts to get a bunch of cool hacker-looking stuff. And he just made a script named "hollywood" to pop up a bunch of windows. Wait... doesn't it take more than the script name to run a script? (Enters "hollywood linux" in Duck Duck Go.) God damnit it's literately just an executable in a repository anyone can install.

Even the pretending is easier... and cooler!
It'll require a "real hacker" to pretend to be a hacker in Windows.

Looking into logs is enough to make people think you're a hacker

That is exactly what every task on Linux basically is like. Simple, yet powerful commands. I don't know about you, but I would rather just type `yay firefox` instead of opening the default browser, typing in firefox download, being told that I should stick with Edge instead, ignoring it, downloading firefox installer and running it.

One of my friends watched me install an AUR package.
Needless to say, they got really scared.

And on the other day, when I said I modified Mozilla to make myself as private as possible, they called me a hacker.
I did not compile from source, I just changed Mozilla's settings.
