How Red Bull's F1 weakness was exposed in Monaco GP

Red Bull’s second defeat in three Formula 1 races was by far its worst performance of the season. It was comprehensively outgunned, with Max Verstappen managing only sixth place in the Monaco Grand Prix as Charles Leclerc claimed an emotional home victory for Ferrari.
So was this limp Red Bull performance, compounded by Sergio Perez’s big accident on the first lap, merely a one-off caused by the unique demands of the Monte Carlo circuit, or is there more to it than that?

Oops! you may notice we've got 2x Mercedes in Sector 1 in this graphic at 03:51. The second Mercedes in the list should be the missing Ferrari (sorry Ferrari fans!) - The video editor.

One thing I have to make mention of is how calm the Ferrari personnel are on the pit wall now, even cracking jokes! Fred has been exactly what the Scuderia has needed in terms of leadership for a very long time.

The fact that we all thought this season would be a write-off but we might actually have a title fight for the constructors in our hands 🔥

The redbull being slow at low speed street circuits isn’t an exposed weakness. We all knew this.

I remember Mercedes being slow at Monaco when they was dominating

They may very well lose the Constructor's, Checo just doesn't cut it anymore..

Monaco may be a historic, prestigious and demanding circuit, but it's becoming ever more clear that it's no longer a good race track for modern F1 cars. Yes Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes did most likely have the better car for the circuit, Verstappen being unable to even try an overtake while he is lapping 2 seconds faster than Russel is something I'd call a major issue.

Leclerc wining on Monaco is hands down one of the most memorable moments of this season.
And Lando getting his first win right up there as well

Lets be real, a clean lap from Max would be up there with Ferrari and Mclaren. Then add the fact that Monaco is a track with almost no possible overtakes. There is no dramatic exposed there.

how do you "dominate" a race when there were only two over takes the entire 78 laps?

No way to overtake so it is all about qualifying. To be circulating 10s slower than qualifying and still not able to overtake the guy in front shows how shit the Monaco circuit is

Monaco is just an old track that’s outdated for modern F1 cars. No opportunities to pass. The race is decided during qualifying

It's Monaco. You simply can't pass there. If Verstappen was able to get on pole, he would've won, same for Perez. start 2nd, finish 2nd. etc... Verstappen caught Russell in 5 or 6 laps after pitting. So he gained nearly 20 seconds but couldn't pass another car on 50 lap old tires.

Well the fact that Adrian Newey seemed to show keen interest in the McLarens at Monaco suggests they’re definitely doing something right.

Wasn’t a race, just a high speed parade

IMO Monaco showed two things I think should be changed. Tire changes under red flag shouldn’t count as changing compounds.
2nd going back to the last timing marker should only be as a last result. They have loads of other data to show car positions at time of red flag. If they cannot determine from all other accurate information, then use last timing marker.
