Josh, I for one have no problem with a 'lecture' style video like this. It's very helpful and interesting to learn how things like MIDI work, especially when we use it every day without even thinking about it.

My understanding of MIDI just deepened, and I also now understand that this great little video is just an overview. I didn’t know, for example, that Pitch Bend was that finely graded. I imagined virtual orchestra instruments with much finer control than is currently available (perhaps already in MIDI 2?), but the bandwidth is already straining our most capable machines. So, maybe a combination of sampling and modeling to create much greater variety and more subtle timbral, pitch, and articulation possibilities? The progress in the the past few years is truly stunning. Eventually, I suppose, image and sound (and everything currently digital) will be produced on quantum computers. But I digress. This series is great. I check daily for the latest. Bravo!
