The Metaverse: A unique opportunity for innovation and growth - or a dangerous ‘parallel reality’?

This latest EPRS policy roundtable will focus on one the most discussed technology concepts of our time: the metaverse - an immersive and constant virtual 3D world where people interact through an avatar to carry out a range of everyday activities. While the exact scope and impact of the metaverse on the society and on the economy is still unknown, it throws up a range of opportunities and risks in many policy areas. A panel of policy-makers, practitioners and commentators will look at the main features, challenges, opportunities and risks of the metaverse, with the aim of identifying fields that deserve greater attention within the EU system.

Metaverse is 3D and Augmented Reality apps, all of it was born Open Source and Open Standards as Tim Berners - Lee and Linus Torvalds developed the Web tools deeper , but Europe pedantic arrogance and corruption was so slow to accept them, that now most apps are proprietary. Now let's wait for this comment to get deleted .
