Liz Cheney, who was deputy assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern Affairs during that period, supported the war and has defended it ever since (in 2015 she co-wrote a book with her father on American foreign policy).
Liz Cheney also championed another odious lie (or one that was spun): the racist conspiracy theory that President Barack Obama was born in Kenya. When asked about it in 2009, she replied: “I think the Democrats have more crazies than the Republicans.”
