Liz Cheney joins Kamala Harris at campaign event in GOP birthplace

Liz Cheney, former Republican congresswoman and daughter of a former Republican vice president, joined Vice President Kamala Harris at a campaign event in Ripon, Wisconsin, a city commonly recognized as the birthplace of the Republican Party. The trip marked Cheney’s first time campaigning for Harris and came amid a larger effort by the Democratic ticket to capture the support of Republicans disillusioned with former President Donald Trump.

I was born and raised for much of my childhood 50 miles from Jackson hole, Wyoming in a small town with less than 1500 people. I left as soon as I could at age 17. I have held a deep respect for Ms. Cheney since I realized she had something special. I was prepared to vote for her if she ran. This was not easy for her. Much respect from a lifelong democrat that has voted red when necessary.
