yes that has been driving me nuts. Gw2 has auto targeting promotion if you use a skill. I must turn that on.

I just learned to walk around spamming the tab button to swap targets

Only problem with this is if you're an ability spammer if you kill something you might switch to a new Target automatically even if you don't want to

i like how the auto target while attacking section doesnt exist ingame if u follow this quick guide on where it is unless your using M&K input

Not true, wow does not auto target, until you're in combat.

Tbh, it should be an opt-out option, not opt in setting
