In this Video we are going to Clone the SSD on my 2012 Macbook Pro, Mac OS Ventura 13.2 to an external hard drive. Then we will boot up from the external and re-install OCLP to the external to show proof of concept. In my next video i will be tearing open the Macbook and swapping out the drives.

This Laptop is up for grabs if anyone is interested,

Big Thanks to @mrmacintosh and OCLP Team!!

when you did the cloning from the lap top to the usb you slected the main partition and not the hole drive missing the open core portion ..this why you see one portion "the small one ", less on the usb drive . and after you booted with the usb drive you had to install open core portion for the first time on the usb drive. if you put this usb in to another Mac there may be a bigger miss match of drivers..and not boot up enough so you have internet, mouse or screen that is readable on the different Mac... so do a config with open core on this lap top to the usb to closer match the other Mac..

been using open core for the last 4 years and mine was to restore Sequoia from generic external to new m.2 internal. Windows platform didn't help while I used 3rd party tools like mini partition and balena etcher.

I installed ventura on my late 2012 imac using opencore but I did it on the old HD and it worked great the only problem is I purchased a 1TB SSD and I want to clone from the HD in the imac, I have done that but I am not sure what I would have to do next to use the SSD I understand I would have to do something similar to what was done on this video. Any assistance would be really appreciated. Thank you.

nice, I now I know what to do, maybe? Open Core Legency suppose to work on older macs and would love to use the external drive and still use the old OS for my old apps since they will not work on the Ventura OS.
