This video delivers a short story about the WWII B-24 Liberator that vanished, along with its entire crew, during a bombing mission from Suluq, Libya to Naples, Italy on April 4, 1943 . It was discovered 15 years later on November 9, 1958 over 400 miles south of the Suluq, in the Libyan desert, in the middle of nowhere.

Another great review of history for us. Nobody does it better and I love the Google Earth that you reference. Regarding the crew members that died in the desert, I can only imagine the suffering that they had to endure. What a horrible way to die. May they all RIP

I remember watching a special on TV when the plane was found. We watched it as a family and were amazed at how far the crew made it. Later in the 1980’s, I bought a book about it called: “The Lady Be Good” by Dennis McClendon. The bomber still had coffee aboard that was still good.

There are some great artifacts of the Lady Be Good at the American Air Power Museum on Long Island NY. Also an engine is in the USAF Museum at Dayton OH.
