Ichigo True Bankai Defeats Yhwach!

This arc in general left so many questions unanswered, it's a good arc but you can tell it was rushed due to shueishas limit and the fact kubo was sick.


OK I get it anyone else could've struck down yhwach I would try to counterargue but i have no energy and why is this even a debate just enjoy the manga/anime y'all can't chill without arguments jeez.

It's nice because old man zangetsu (which we know is yhwach) told ichigo that zangetsu is the only sword that can strike him down when he was getting his bankai. We knew the ending all along.

For all this to make sense, it is necessary to highlight some points:

Tsukishima's ability, Book of The End, can rewrite the past
When the Bankai is broken, it CANNOT be restored, not even by Orihime
Haschwalth predicted the future and showed it to the king
Almithgy can only see the future and rewrite it

That said, when the King breaks Ichigo's Bankai, Orihime was unable to restore it, not because the King wrote the future, but because Bankai cannot be restored. And that's where Tsukishima comes in.

Tsukishima rewrites the past of Ichigo's Zanpakutou to a time when it was never broken, and I emphasize "never", because that means that Ichigo's Zanpakutou was restored to before Haschwalth broke it, that is, before the new Zangetsu were forged!

This explains why Orihime was able to repair Ichigo's Zanpakutō, and why the appearance of the Zanpakutō remains the same, because the Zanpakutō we see after Tsukishima rewrites the past is Ichigo's old Shikai, from the Substitute Soul Reaper saga. We see that Ichigo's Bankai has the same shape as his old Shikai, and this is where the King is tricked.

The King tries to break Ichigo's sword again, thinking it is Ichigo's Bankai, but he fails to rewrite the future, because the sword he is trying to break, according to the Book of The End, was never forged by Nimaya, he is trying to break a Bankai that does not exist! That is why the only thing that is crushed when the King tries to break Ichigo's Zanpakutō is the sheath, because it is the only thing left that Orihime was able to restore from his Bankai. So basically the Zangetsu we see at the end is the Shikai with the Bankai sheath.

This fits perfectly according to Haschwalth's prediction, where the King has a dream where he is defeated by Ichigo's old Zangetsu, the Shikai. The King's problem was a "misinterpretation", where he always thought that this dream referred to Ichigo's new Bankai, (since it has the same appearance as the old Shikai) when in fact it referred to the Shikai itself that his vision of the future showed. In other words, the King's powers never failed.
In the end, without Tsukishima, this plot would not be possible, because the King would not mistake Ichigo's Zangetsu.

Just a random thought, I think the reason he won here was because the past that was re-written was not Ichigo's sword being broken by Yhwach, but when it was broken by Haschwalt, which would also explain why he couldn't just break it again instantly like he did this time. He tried to break something that didn't technically exist in this timeline, and would also explain why it degrades into the sword that shouldn't exist, his original sword.

This is way better than fyemaj's manga animation, because in the manga animation cuts most of the scenes which makes us understand whats going on. On the other the hand this mmv contains every single pannel that was necessary to make us understand what is going on.

It seems to me, the still silver worked to a certain degree but saw Ichigo wouldn’t make it in time. Ichigo’s sheath was destroyed by Yuha but it’s the sword that he feared that killed him. The sword that “Old Man Zangetsu” said years go that could only defeat him. Aizen, Uryu, and Tsukishima with an assist, but this was an Ichigo thing.

This didn't defeat him. He re-wrote the future again to revive himself and Ichigo's son finished him off

Stillness meaning Users can cause anything that they target to become unchanging and doesn't progress or regress. Meaning they have no past or future.
You cannot foresee that something have no past or future
