Technically Uryu is NOT the only half-blood that survived. Ichigo is a half-blood. Karin and Yuzu would also be half-blood Quincies, I mean they all do share their mother's blood don't they? 😂

Yawach said that he would come back when ichigo was at his happiest moment in life and I’d say the beginning of the hell arc is that point and a great way to get back at ichigo is to use his son as a vessel forcing ichigo to loose his son and possibly everything.

Yhwach sensed that Uryu had a great hidden power, with potential to maybe rival or surpassed his own power. Thats why he made him his successor. 👍

Some corrections. The Schrift Ywach bestows relates to the potential dormant within the Quincy already. Ywach just brings that potential out and bestows it the name the power describes itself.

An example is Uryu who has The Antithesis which is what more than likely saved him from Auschwalen as it is the natural counter to Ywach's abilities.

Which ties into why Ywach wanted Uryu so badly. His ability, like Ichigo's Bankai, was a threat and so to eliminate he tries to tie Uryu directly to him through the Schrift there by guaranteeing come another Auschwalen Uryu's power would be absorbed and kill him.

However, as shown again when Ywach Auschwalen's the Elites he could not get Uryu because of The Antithesis.

That aside, I am curious about what is so awful outside the three realms that essentially God felt this was the best solution.
